I would always say top speed is overrated if you run in rough water , as long as you can cruise @ 60 mph without beating the motor's up you are good to go .I say 60 mph because that seem's to be the speed where most straight bottom boats start to free up and cruise better in rough water being able to skip over wave's . and with a 80mph+ top speed she will cruise in the 60+mph range without over revving the motor's for long distance cruising and of course keeping the fuel burn down
