All I'm saying is it's hard to nail down a general price range for a "90's Cig" or a "T/S Cig" because they are just all over the map on pricing. I mean look at the Cafe Racer market...20k to 90k... Or, maybe the bench mark of "over priced boats' - Apaches I think it all comes back to the good 'ol saying (for the most part) : You get what you pay for!
Agreed! Every time I have heard of someone getting a boat like this at deal under $100k the story always ends the same. I had to do top ends, headers etc. remember a new set of CMI's alone will run $8k. So if you buy a boat that has low hours or has been kept like the owner was going to own for life you will have to pay more up front but I believe it is cheaper in the long run. The Top Guns and Cafes that are out there selling for $50k have TRS drives black dashes and no shine left on the gel coat. I agree with Moses that straight bottom Cigs that are original and not redone do not commend a hefty price tag. The other issue if you have a completely redone 90's cig and you are looking for $90k there are very few potential buyers for you. The bank won't loan that much money on an older boat even if it is in better shape the boat 10 years newer. This is just my opinion but I would say a Bravo Top Gun or Cafe with decent power on a trailer should sell for a range of $60k-$75k. There are exceptions on both sides of that of course. I sold my redone Cafe with no trailer for low $60's 3 seasons ago. I had double in it. That is the type of boat you want to find.

I looked at alot of "Deals" before I bought mine. They were not "Deals" in my book.

I've come home with an empty truck a few times, as the "deal" turned from good to bad as soon as I was able to go over the boat with my own eyes. I always laugh when you point out a major issue with a boat and the owner pleads ignorance. Fortunately, the last two Cigarettes that I have bought were exactly as the owner represented!

You buy Speed Racer back Chad? As I seem to recall it was a very decent price the last time it was listed.

Always loved that boat.

Yes sir I did! I sold it in '04 to Doug. He kept it at LOTO and every time I saw it, I wanted it back. Almost 9 years later and 50 hrs more on the meters, I ended up buying it back from him this past spring. Thanks for the kind words!

Congrats man. Like I said, one of the coolest Cigs out there. What's that thing running with those big blower motors in it?

Thanks Tank! I had the blowers pulled off, cut the scoops off and turned the hatch back into a factory 575sci hatch. The engines are 550hp NA's. I still have some tweaking to do on the props, but I'm running 84mph at 5,000rpm's with a full load of fuel. When I'm done we should be close to 90mph. None the less, it is still a turn-key, strong running package that should have some great longevity. New interior, new stereo, new LED's, added an electric cabin door, new windscreen, new headers, Mercury ITS, Imco SC's.....it's just about finished!
