Does anyone know where the RPM sensor is located, as my RPM guage if freeking out. Also, I have a remote oil filter. Is the sendor by the remote oil filter for oil temp guage? That guage is not working either.

If you have MSD boxes the tach will wire into the MSD. My Oil temp sender is in the bock right above the remote oil fiter adapter. Brown/white wire hooked to it. 94 Top Gun as well.

The Sender could also be in the oil pan.... Depends on who rigged the boat if you have custom power....

How are those Arnesons running!!! Any video yet??

rpm is ignition triggered. It's a gray wire in a merc harness. Negative side of the coil unless you have an msd as mark stated

I don't have a MSD. Thanks for the info. I don't have much time on the Arneson drives yet, but they seem to be doing OK. There is a little weight tweaking I need to do. In order to throw I awesome rooster, I need to be running at least 50mph. Also, there is a fine line between a huge rooster and a whimpy rooster when trimming. It has a tendency to porpoise when throwing a huge rooster unless you have some weight in the bow. To throw a awesome rooster, you have to trim it up just a little up past neutral trim. You can feel it too. It slows you down about 1-2 mph. When my wife and I were in the boat with an ice chest inside the cabin, no porpoise with large rooster. When 4 people in the back and no ice chest, porpoise with rooster. My water tank is empty. I am thinking about filling it up and adding a little weight. Needless to say, the boat does not porpoise at all when runnning it like the Arnesons are designed, which is neautral trim. When you get around 65mph, it throws a awesome rooster in neautral trim. It does run better when you have the drives at neautral trim in all cases. After getting these Arneson drives, I have came to the conclusion that you really need more than 605hp each side to really take advantage of them. I have lost some crusing speed at 3500rpm. As far as cruising, there is too much prop slip with cleavers compared to the bravo Maximus 5 blade props. The faster you go, the better the cleaver are, but who runs their boat wide open all the time? I don't. At least my boat is prepared to handle more HP if I ever decide to upgrade. We cruised at 50mph at 3700rpm with 18 diameter, 5 blade, 28 pitch Herring Props. I used to cruise 50mph at 3300rpm. I don't know Top Speed yet, but I can tell it will go faster. I hit my average top speed with the Arnesons when I gave it full throttle for just a few seconds. If all goes well, I will have some video with Gopro camera after Auguest 11th.

Did you try trimming down a little at the 50mph cruise to reduce the slip?

No. I am taking the boat out tomorrow if the weather works out. I'll try that.

Like Kris said a little lower on the trim in the slower speeds will make a difference especially when you are running a 18" diameter wheel..

How's the docking and handling?

The docking and handling is just fine. It is a little different, but not really noticable compared to the bravos. The only thing that I have to watch is to make sure the drives don't slam into the dock. I almost did that the 1st time I left the dock at the boat launch. My wife and kid pushed the bow out while I was leaving the dock and backing up, putting me in a bad situation with the current working against me. I made it out OK. When I had bravos, I had to give the engines a little gas after putting it into gear or the engines wanted to die on me. I don't have that problem with the Arnesons, so I like them better for my application. Getting on plane is different and it takes a little practice and experimentation. I found out the best way to get on plane this weekend. There is one thing for sure, these Arneson drives like speed on my 1994 Cigarette Top Gun. You can go slow, but they come alive at higher speeds, at or above 50mph. It starts getting fun after you reach 50mph and look back and see that rooster taking off. Boring below 50mph. I didn't get the Arneson's to go slow in the 1st place...
