Fuel tank question for cig owners
2003 cigarette w 525s . Is it poss to run both motors off 1 tank . My cig has
A bunch of ball valves mounted on top of the tanks however u really can't see where All the lines go . Can it really be done and does anyone have a diagram of it ??? I know my old top gun could but it had valves at the fuel filters this is not setup That way. All valves are mounted on top of fuel tanks and also only 1 feed line to fuel pump |
Yes, you can do it, but you can only run about 3500 rpms or it will starve for fuel.

Anybody have a diagram on how to do it . All u see is a bunch of hoses and valves
Most are hidden so you can't see where they end |
Good question Smokin Gun. I wondered this myself on my Mystique. Never had to run off one tank thankfully, but good to know.

I think I have a tag under the access panel that shows how to do it. I'll try to get pic of it and post it.

my cig each tank for each motor

Sorry for the delay getting the info back. I looked at the setup on my 03 TG and there are two valves on each tank. One goes straight to the engine and will be open, and the other feeds the opposite side (crossover) and will be closed. Basically all you need to do to run from a single tank is make sure both valves on empty tank are closed and both valves on the remaining tank are open.
There is also a tag on each side that reads as follows: Fuel Tank Crossover Valve To Operate: 1. Open crossover valve (handle Parallel to line) 2. Close Valve From Empty Fuel Tank (Handle perpendicular to line) 3. Do Not run wide open throttle while crossover is open (Minimum fuel pressure 4PSIG) |
