Top Gun - 35' or 38'?
#1
All,
Hoping some of you knowledgable folks can clear this up - I was under the impression that the 38' Cig was the Top Gun, and the 35' was the Cafe Racer.
However, I've seen a number of 35' Cigs for sale that list them as "Top Gun" models, and some even have the Top Gun name incorporated into the graphics.
So, is Top Gun a model, or is a trim level that could be applied to several different models (i.e., could you have a 42' Top Gun)?
Here is a 35' Top Gun: http://www.yachtworld.com/listing/yw...USD&units=Feet
Thx,
DR

Hey Dockrocker:
Up till about 99 or so the 35 was a CafeRacer and that hull is diff then say the TG or the Bullet. In 99 Cig introduced the Playboy Edition / 35 TG. They are both the same thing. At 35ft it’s a slightly smaller version of the 38 TG. It was supposed to be only 10 boats but it appears that Cig will build as many as you want. particularly in that they have changed hands twice since its introduction.
In that your in The Detroit area you may have seen that 35 at either Jefferson Beach or Miller Marine. He was at JBM last summer and now at Miller. That’s where those rack pics are from I believe. That boat has HP-500's in it and has the covergirl cabin.
The 42 used to be slightly different and was called Revolution. In about 99 as well Cig introduced the Tiger which is the only 42 they have now.
Hope this helps

Thanks for clearing that up - when I first saw the ad, I figured it was the typical "broker" who doesn't know what he's talking about (as noted above, the ad says 502's when the motors are clearly HP500's in the pics), but then I saw the graphics and interior - "35 Top Gun"
So the hull on a 35 TG is different from a 35 Cafe Racer? Or is it the same hull, just a different name?

I thought there were 10 35 Top guns non stepped and that were built in the 1999-2000 time frame. IN 2000 Cigarette introduced the Play Boy Edition which has a twin step and cockpit and dash like a Top Gun. I think Cigarette has dropped the Play Boy name and now calls them 35 TS.
