What's the cost of a rebuild on a 454... Most it could be? If it Gets the boat sold, the warranty might be worth it. I know stock low hour 454's are not crazy $$.
It's a barging tool to.... Price can move if warranty goes away:

they had a good leakdown. they are extremely clean inside. yes sh!t can happen but these are mild little 420's pretty tough little motors.

Stupid stuff happens I can see a established place like a huge dealer offering a warranty... Not a one man one boat thing .... Asking to lose lots of money.... I'm not stupid....

20 hours can be 3 years for some guys.... So better have a huge chunk of cash sitting just in case.... I can't believe I am the only one that sees this being an issue??? Who offers a warranty on a 87 cig with old stock power?

i sold 40 to 50 boats a year for 8 years for a small business, all speed boat between 25 and 35 footer.
always gave 20 hours full warranty and had once to rebuild an engine after a breakdown...
so in my opinion, it makes sense!

Thought "only Phil's" hands will touch the boat?

Exactly!!! You obviously not a one boat sale shop!! When you sell that many there is lots more money made therefor mkney sitting just in case ... It's fine I'm not losing any so I guess it don't matter!!
