Not sure why I am even writing this.....I just cannot help myself.. I should probably just keep quite.. If there wasn't always that little bit of cockiness in your posts I probably wouldn't have posted this.
It is comments like this that speaks volumes with you.
Did you even actually read what Ed wrote?
Is this even a real thread I am actually starting to wonder..? LOL, come on already...I read a little of it from the beginning again, I am trying to figure out why this thread is still even up....
315duramax, you do come across cocky that is for sure, and this rubs a lot of people the wrong way, I remember being your age very clearly and having a little bit of that going on, I believe we were all like that to some extent, just comes with the age,I do however give you credit for taking on this project and I believe whether you admit it or not it is wayyyyy more than you thought, and as you mature and do more of these you will have more of an understanding of the realistic costs VS actual profit, and yes your man hours have to be considered as costs also your $$$ tied up during this time frame, which you are now on 5 months and it does not appear that she is ready for the water yet, based on your recent pics posted.
I am sure you will respond and say I am wrong blah blah blah, and you have plenty of room for profit.
As far as your asking price when every nut and bolt is installed from what I can see as everyone else viewing this project here will be your issues., not trying to be a dick just letting you know what I see as a person who has bought and sold many, many boats.
Same things we are all thinking...... Especially FF..
Why I feel you will NOT get close to $47,000.00
For starters you are 1/2 way thru the season and a lot of buyers are gone.
I do not think this thread is going to help that is for sure.
I do not see external steering on this boat.
Dash needs to be redone. that black gauges look horrible it is at least 2-3K to do it right. I am in the middle of doing mine now
I do not feel engines are big enough, I am running 496HO's and hit 65MPH all day with the occasional 67MPH, this is with bravo XR drives, if you can hit those marks I will be surprised. Not fast enough, I want 525's for next year....
TRS drives and trans, although I have nothing against them still a drawback for a lot of guys.
Cabin interior that old red cloth and carpet on the walls, need I say more.
Hopefully that piece of red carpet you installed in cockpit is not your permanent piece.
To each his own on the interior, but I am looking at that back seat and cannot help but notice that the strips from top to bottom are not the same width...What happened there?
swim platform
did you update the vents on the engine hatch, that has yet to be seen completed.
trailer needs to be redone
I wish you nothing but the best but if you can turn a profit working on a boat for 5-6 months you my friend are my newest hero!!
Good luck bro

Although I think this has gotten to be a bit much, I believe what you wrote.... ^^^^^^^ A lot of guys are thinking this but afraid to say it.

I cannot agree more with this, I guess you word it much better then me so you wont get ripped! but I said all this from the beginning and many others agreed, I would love to see the man hours and numbers posted for this project, I bet there is no tally of man hours,...that has to count when it's a "business" deal. I wanna see numbers invested and a final selling price, after that I will eat my words if it sells for anything close to what he wants... old boats just don't sell easily PERIOD!
If I was Phil I would keep the boat and enjoy it....I don't know of any boat busnisses that restore older offshore boats and turn a profit...I know absolutely nobody that made a profit restoring old boats.... best way is buy one with no power or bad power, and a doner boat, build one out of two and sell off all the extra parts, then you have a chance of MAKING money.
that is some non hater advice right there...

The kid is learning a lot.... I like it. Time will tell what it sells for. I have friends tat flip houses.... Most of them did not make a mint on there first home. It's a learning experience. They kid has swagger.... His flame has been turned down a bit. I don't see a need to assault everything he dose..... A few sticks here and there are funny. But ****...

I got a question, a serious one. How does your regular job pay enough for you to have the cafe, pay rent in a shop, the dually, and be putting money into the cafe? Sorry dude your 19, it's not like you saved for 10 years to do this. So I guess what I'm saying is stick to what you've been doing because I can tell you from experience, whatever you do pays more than fixing boats.

I remember my first house flip, (not at 19) I was a nervous wreck the whole time , wondering if I`m doing the right things, tons of $$ on the line, bills piling up, wondering if I did the right thing, working around the clock to get things done..etc.etc
Im glad I didn`t have some a$$hole like FF breathing down my neck telling me all the things I~m going wrong and how it will never work out. Real classy.
