Tank, I respect everything you say on here but if you can read that thread I posted and think to yourself that dmax is someone who is anything other than an arrogant asshat than kudos to you for seeing good in anyone.
Post 112 in that thread says it all for me..... He took a print of the thread to the marina and convinced the salesman (who had already told him it had a deposit and turned him away) that FullWhack was going to flake. ****head |
Sick Stringer , I am going to respectapfully disagree and have to agree with tank . A deposit with the condition of a survey is just , a conditional offer not a hand shake and not a done deal . An unconditional offer is Just that , a solid contract . The seller was the one who is a fault here as he should have at least gone back to the original purchaser and offered him the ability to go firm on the spot . As tank said the cash offer always trumps a conditional offer.
Just my 2 cents. RG. |
The events even after purchase that also didn't help, told us we were all wrong when we told him he cannot restore it for 10,000.00 and sell t for 60,000 and he claimed it was already sold for that telling us how stupid the veterans were, and he was going to do it in a month or two, many tried to tell him many things and we got nothing but smart ass back saying he will show us.... what did he show? that he can paint a boat, (seems to look good) he had interior done by someone who cannot match up lines, and reinstalled parts.... nothing else was touched and then claims a FULL RESTORE was done on the boat and didn't even paint engines...
As far as him being at LOTO, that's fine, I am sure others here can be there if they wanted to be, that has nothing to do with anything.. I would love to see the numbers on this deal since he was gonna "show us how it's done" cost of boat, materials, and yes HIS TIME in hours, but he said you do not include that when in business, I sure do....write off his whole LOTO trip and everything else, he has it all figured out....that stuff will cost him later.... |
Need to fix the stern navigation light. Noticed leaving Dog Days Fri night.

I get where you guys are coming from. I'm pretty straight forth when it comes to taking a deposit and I make it pretty well known that if someone steps up with asking price, product will be sold with first right of refusal back to the person that our the deposit down. So, I see it a little different. Just the way I view it. And as for the alleged attitude on this thread, I haven't seen it. I've read an over zealous 19 year old that's eyes were bigger than his stomach maybe. I didn't think he was coming off disrespectful but I haven't read every word in depth and I never saw the FB stuff. But I do see that it does seem like a little witch huntish talking about where he gets his money and criticizing every aspect of him. But hey, remind me not to piss you guys off ever! ;) :D
All I was saying about being at loto boating is a that this is a boating website. He's out boating. It amuses me slightly. ;) Sh1t happens, people make mistakes (especially 19 year olds). Like i said in my original post, if he can learn anything from the experience and from posts on this thread, more power to him. |
I have no opinion on his finances but I DO take issue with his complete bull$hit for sale add.
Shows his character or lack thereof. |

Another thing I'd suggest is be very careful in your wording in your ad, the language can help the sale or kill it.

The boat looked good on the lake this weekend. My friend is interested in making an offer. Do you guys think $28,000 is fair?
|
Only after a survey and you guys looking at it inside and out.
If owner balks over that, walk. I can't help with the $$$ part. |
