ok so i made it to post 680... im not even giong to bother reading the rest of this train wreck.
in regards to the bottom... i only sprayed half the way back the boat because earlier in the season i was planning on rolling hull speed on it, thats why i didnt care about the over spray on the bottom. anyone who was interested i told them THEY HAD THE OPTION TO HAVE IT PAINTED OR ROLLED. never said this is how you get it. yup, the moisture on the bottom of the hull is i blew a PS line so when i yanked the plug it made its way down the hull. DAMN this boat is a PIECEEE OFFFF ****TTTTTTTTTT.
in regards to the red stripe... i had an issue with a solvent and some of the paint peeled when spraying the stripe. i re sanded everything down and re sprayed. i was rushing and didnt put my back tape line far enough back.. learned that when blending you shouldnt rush. TOLD anyone who was interested that the blend will be fixed before picking up. but yall just keep saying im a sly business man and have bad ethics?
lets just put this out there cause i know a bunch of you are waiting to hop on my dick on this one waiting by your computers...
1. what have i said/done that makes me ethically wrong?
2. what have i done that gives anyone the idea that im out there to screw anyone?
3. why dont you post any photos of the mirror gloss this boat has? only stupid little knicks.
the dash when i sprayed it i didnt get enough paint in that spot because a piece of paper flapped down and blocked it. another learning curve about painting a dash as this was my first DASH i painted.
i disclosed to every single buyer interested the condition of the boat. every little knick knack that COULD be done. the thing is, that im learning , is that everyone wants 100G boat for 15g or they want a 90g boat but dont even have a truck to pull it with. and im sure your going to hop all on me about "well why dont fix it" and well to be honest, i doubt its going to sell this late in the season. so im just going to wait till im into my new shop and i can fiddle with the boat and do all the little details. ive just been enjoying running the boat.
and go for my trailer i really dont care... i told everyone its ratty, but it still tows like a dream. and how did i lie about the hour meter? ive ran the boat every weekend for about half the summer. i ran it for a week out in loto. i dont know about you but i dont run it for 15 mins and shut it down... how is 40 hours bull****? but hey i appreciate you cluddering my thread and trying to ruin any business i could get off of here. and ya, i worked for a glass and paint guy for a long time. their business is down sizing and were turning away jobs because they did this since they were my age and they are trying to get out and retire. i learned everything from them. but they were not going to type of work i wanted to do. paint is paint, prep is prep, taping is taping. but most of you wont know that because youve never laid more paint than a rattle can of phantom black on your tab touch up in your driveway.
also, i even marketed this boat as a perfect boat for someone to fiddle with over the winter... IE gauges, hull speed, etc.. where have i hid anything???
ya, to whoever this applies to, i do have alot to learn, each paint job throws something new. this cafe was a HUGE learning experience but it was worth it. if i was a shady business person those photos you have would have never gotten out onto the web... like i said, all the major things are done. its a boat someone can fiddle with and feel like they had some skin in the game with their boat. unlike some people who pay someone to paint, pay someone for interior, and maybe changed their throttles out... heres just some photos to show that i DO INDEED do quality work... but im sure this thread will hit over 200 pages of worthless bull****. and ill be out working on more boats. and no i never said i was "restoring" the carbon boat. i said im buying it and when i get it ill figure out what i want to do with it then...

sorry i havent been posting much, i was finishing up this rx8 for a VERY happy customer of mine.
oh and heres just a few photos that cigmaster and FF and whoever else forgot to post... sure... in bad lighting anything can look ****ty.. thats why my motors look dirty and filthy because the dust in the shop with the flash made it look like that... but hey, what do i know... you just are looking at photos...

you guys are straight up going off the deepend... if i had anything to hide i wouldnt have even offered to send the survey but i guess people were that concerned they wanted to pick out the survey and didnt even read and said their was no sea trial? like wtf didnt you even read the survey or na? if i had intentions of screwing people, i wouldnt be marketing myself in loto, the 1000 islands, or the big name, high cliental areas. i never said i am a glassdave, or i am boat customs, but i do want to critique my skills and sharpen my tools so one day i can be. but hey, anyone whose going to talk **** was never and is never going to have me touch their boat. and all those people who talk **** havent seen the boat in person, and all those people who talk ****, are just people i dont need in my life nor my business. just wanted to say thanks to IC, tim and kevin and anyone else who has had my back. and for everyone else, just wait till you see what starts to come out of my shop in the future... thats alllllll im saying. and what im saying is everyone starts somewhere, and this is where im starting, you can like it or not... but its going to happen.

Dude, you would have been off staying quiet.
You came on here stating you were going to set the world on fire with repairing wrecked boats with your "ancient upstate secret" of doing fiberglass body work that you learned on 440 jet skis. You said you would show us how awesome it was. Glassdave straightened that one out (literally).
Then this Cigarette refurb/flip thing crashes and burns as evidenced in this thread.
Now you are showing off how well you can use Bondo and 3M double sided tape over a rusted fender lip by slapping a flare back over it.
Seriously?!

Good to know.
But, no I am not that dumb. You didn't provide any of that info. The pictures don't speak for themselves as it looks like a fender flare.
Alas, I circle back: Why are you showing a rusty car fender to prove yourself on a boating forum? My local auto body shop guy has done that work for me in the past (on my show truck even), but he's not going anywhere near my boat.
Unsolicited advice:
Overall: slow your row
Herein: check yourself before you wreck yourself (if not too late already)

You did at least open my eyes to research the market and realize what I would get back if I ever sold the Formula vs the money I already knew it would take to get it to what I would consider a boat to be proud of..not pristine..just a head turner..it made me realize if Im going to dump my blood sweat tears time and wallet into something then make it something I want to enjoy for years to come and stop thinking about turning a profit..my boat still has faded stripes and old interior due top a few setbacks this season..but I spent almost every weekend on leave on an island drinking beer and talking boats with guys..my **** wont be done overnight..but you bet your ass it will be done right and if that takes years so be it..if it floats and runs..I have a place to drink beer and get laid..Im happy..work in progress..like I told you before until I can afford paint Ill enjoy the patina..with some guidance from Glassdave though I believe I will attempt to re lay the bow stripes myself so wish me luck..you can come help sand and buff FF..Ill buy Bubbas BBQ!!

I replied before I even saw this!!! LOLOLO HACK, "I cut out rust and replaced with glass" well at least it seems you used duraglass that will give it a little more time before it rots again, a experienced autobody man would have cut out, and replaced with the metal it's supposed to be... you fukking hack I would not buy a hotwheel from you....
you are the issue with todays kids, you think you know it all... you do not know chit and a HUGE hack... the car pic proves it more...I been painting my own stuff for 20 years and never did hackwork like you.... wow that floors me you try to school us... man this is funny chit.

Every time 315 hits this thread he sheds a bit more light on just how clueless he really is.

Butchering in a glass patch on a rusted fender is NOT a proper repair. That's how hack shops lipstick pigs for unknowing folks.
Priceless!
