I don't think you are right or wrong. What I know is that good quality used boats are getting harder & harder to find. I think the used boat market is unique with little quality inventory. If a buyer wants a nice quality used boat I believe it becomes a sellers market if you have a well kept turn key boat for sale.

That tiger looks really really clean, so I don't think a mint freshwater boat is going to be bought for anywhere 105

I'm pretty sure Ed won't take $105k for his Tiger. Before I bought my Top Gun, I spoke with him about his Tiger. He sent me a lot of pictures of it, all of which looked good. He appears to be a guy that is passionate about his boats and Im sure whoever ends up with it will be extremely happy. Who knows, mine might be had for the right price! :)

There's what seems to be a very nice looking 2009 Top Gun on ebay listed for $184,900 or best offer. I don't know if $150k buys it, but IMO it wouldn't hurt to talk to the seller.

I feel like I make the same comment on all of these threads. With a cheap boat you almost always end up with a boat that you sink money into. Boat values vary based on conditions and updates. The T/S that I have seen that sell near or under the $100k mark need exhaust, interior, paint work and have tons of hours on them. How can someone compare a well loved boat that has been maintained with an open check book. Don't get me wrong I am well aware you don't get your money back, but the beat boat does not set the market. Not to mention the guys on here that always talk about a buyers market and talking values down are not even in the market for boats like these so their opinions are useless.

One track mind here. For some reason I see T/S Cig and picture "T/S Top Gun" on the side of the wind screen.
Thanks for the detailed response. |
Thanks for the heads up on the Tiger. There just not for me. I updated my first post to show I am looking for a 35 - 38 ts. If someone has one there thinking about selling let me know.
Thanks Wes |
Smokin gun has an 03 TS 525 ITS boat 115 firm

Please let me know where I can find a 130 MPH 36 Skater with 6's and fresh power for under a 100k? I would be interested in deal like that.
|
If you'll consider a 35, you need to get ahold of Luke (LHZ) that owns Dreamers old Playboy Cig. Things in perfect condition for around 90k I believe. Stunning ride. Mahoganny floors, fresh power, all gone through.

would that be directed towards me??? if so, lol how in the world would you know what my bank account looks like, what i have for boats or if i'm in the market or not? i came on here with good intentions, not to catch sh-t from people who don't like my assessment of what I personally think a boat is worth. hhmmm. i won't get into a pissing match with you but it sounds like you took offense to MY price point on what I personaly feel the boats are worth, maybe you wish your boat was worth more??? don't know, but i think we all wish our boats were worth what they were in an 06 07 08 market. those days are long gone

there is a newer race boat with 6's and 525. boat needs to be put back together. it's a 36 and can be bought for 40k. nothing wrong with the boat. 36 with 5 on boxes that is mint can be had for 60k maybe even less if you have cash in hand. there are three more that i know about, some 32 36 and 40 and all BELOW 100k

There are very few available for sale! If there were a bunch of TG T/S for sale, then we would all know what they are worth by which ones sell. How many 2000-2004, 525's are out there for sale. Many people looking, including me, and cannot find them.

off the subject but..... do all years top gun t/s with ITS boxes have shorties?

I don't think so, most have standard length sport masters I believe??

I don't think the 525 came until 2003. Smokin gun has an 03 525 for sale for 115k. Also there was an 04 in New York for 135 and another 04 in Florida for 135. So your right, not a ton for sale and prices depend on hours/condition.
all the bull $hitt and not one person ever looked at it ... |
Exactly ^^^ I know I wont get a third of what I have in mine IF I tried to sell it. FK IT---- this beeeeeotch is just gonna keep rocking MY World!!

I understand your guys side of the argument because we have two boats on the market, but from the buyers side, it is a totally different approach.
When I'm buying something I want to find the boat/guy that is in total desperate need of the money and has to get rid of his boat because of financial reasons. When buying, I try to buy the boat at a price that I feel, if I had to I could sell the boat that week. For instance, the guy that called smokin gun and offered $85K. If smokin gun just lost his job, needed to pay his mortgage, etc..., that $85K check would've been cashed before you could blink. But, you guys are in good financial standing, and don't have to sell. If you dig deep enough though, you will always find the guy who is about to loose his house and needs the toys gone. The key to buying right is being a vulture...... |

Very true, buyer beware, but sometimes you get lucky if you do your due diligence.
The other thing is that most of these fire sales are gone. So, what you have is buyers who saw the low numbers years ago trying to buy boats from the people who are financially stable and wont drop their price. This leads to people getting frustrated and pulling their boats off of the market, which is why if you go into the classifieds today, you will be greatly disappointed with what's listed for sale. |

Really, you didn't want to do the land contract thing haha. Selling is the worst part of all this and is just a pain in the azz. These boats are getting harder to find and yours is a beautiful boat at a great price. You will probably sell it from word of mouth when a real buyer comes asking around. Good luck
Funny I did have a guy wanting to swap some land In Wisconsin for it .. If I thought for one minute I could Get enough out of it in parts I would strip it Be a shame though |
