Bullet Cabin Upgrade
6 Attachment(s)
I decided to replace the headliner and do a few upgrades to the cabin. The foam in the original headliner was gone and the headliner vinyl was hanging in a few spots.
I'm going to change out the vinyl on the upper side panels and replace the cabin lights with LED's, new headliner and replace the carpet on the hull sides. I'm not replacing any of the cushions this year probably do that over next winter. What a mess, here are a few pictures. |
Cool project!! Ryan and Dan both did some cabin upgrades in their 38's, maybe they will chime in.
|
Cool project. What are you planing to do around the head and cabin entry? Took the carpet off the wall to fix some things and not sure weather to gel coat and paint or vinyl it.
|
I'm thinking of using vinyl around the head. I also want to get rid of the teak but not sure what I want to do there, thinking of maybe painting it or maybe vinyl wrap???
|
Oh man that looks like a big, nasty, pain the ass job. I`m sure knowing you it will be fantastic in the end thou :D
The Flat Decks with the removable panels are much easier to upgrade. Personally Im a big fan of the carbon fiber fabrics. Good luck! |
Ah sweet memories of the good times. As Dan stated Flat decks are all individually wrapped headliner and side panels. Best of luck with the project, have fun.
|
I am going to do the same with mine. Replacing all rug with vinal. Don't know what color as headliner is gray. Was thinking of white but it will show every sock of dirt. I will do this after the new engines go on.
|
Enjoy! I did the same in the Cafe a couple years ago. Was a mess, but now looks much nicer.
|
Did mine a few years back, white headliner, black carbon fiber wall panels and gray seats.. The white looks as good as the day it was installed.

Big project but it will be well worth it.

Fun project right? I have the cabin out of my 38 flat deck now.
I'm cutting all new panels in 1/4 ply then sealing to block any moisture from invading the wood. I had a hatch leak that messed up the cabin pretty bad. I always wanted the fabric out of the cabin anyway. Don't know what I want to do for lighting however I do know I want LED. |

Here is what I did for the lighting, they are LED's.
|
My thought was to eliminate most of those lights on the swivels. I have run my head into them far to many times. I was thinking of adding a detail to the corner of the sidewall and headliner to hide led rope for indirect lighting. I'll keep a spot over the cooler/sink, one to match on the other side maybe a couple readers on the bulkhead.
|
While you have it gutted look very close at any support and bulkheads for integrity. I found a bunch of areas that needed to be glassed back in.

Here are a few update pic's still trying to wrap this project up. What a pain in the A$$ it was!!
Lip-Ship made the panels for me. |
Did Innotech do the carbon fiber? I need to have the radio bezel done in mine and have been toying with doing the carbon to match the dash in mine.
nvm... I just saw you posted Lip Ship lol |
If you want the logo on there you have to go through Lip-Ship.

Marissa at Lip-SHip is very helpful and will keep you updated on what's going on. She is great to deal with.
