The only confusion is that it is running TRS drives, I was told that the Kevlar boats all came with speedmasters, all things aside, I think I will pull the trigger, if it is Kevlar, bonus, if not no big deal.

I would buy the boat,I,ve seen it and looks good. As far as weight is concerned and construction I don't think any thought was given to being sure that each boat built was within a "Weight Spec" especially those early 38's. Remember most of those early boats were powered ( especially TRS Boats ) by Merc 400's with Cleaver props........Maybe a 55 MPH top speed. Later with Hawk 540's and prop technowlogy things got more attn in the build. The only advise I would give is to check the boat out for a Hook.
