Craney 10-20-2014 07:52 PM

You do Nice work.

F-2 Speedy 10-20-2014 07:55 PM

very nice the conversion is sweet, Im sure it will tow better also, now you have a ladder onto the bow

abmotorman 10-20-2014 07:58 PM

Very nice! Gotta ask. What you do with the boat? Take to a marina? If so, what was your impression of how it towed? AB

Flamingo 42 10-20-2014 08:07 PM

The only problem I see is..... I think you need a longer building:eekdrop:

vintage chromoly 10-20-2014 08:16 PM

Nice welds!

What did you paint it with?

Full Force 10-20-2014 08:28 PM

Very cool, way more creative then I am! I am slowly redoing my old Myco, just have bunks left and I am good to go... someday

MILD THUNDER 10-20-2014 08:32 PM

Boats sitting on a lift in my dock. Tows night and day different. No more sway, no more light front end, very happy. That's with no brakes either since I had it blasted after I ditched the boat

Yep, 8" adjustment in the highest setting for my truck but also has an interchangeable gooseneck coupler that fits the same tube

sonic700 10-20-2014 08:51 PM

Looks great! Nice welds. I need to hire you to weld the drive guard that I've had the steel in my garage for 3 years

Wildman_grafix 10-20-2014 08:58 PM

Like everyone else, nice welds.

What is the small flat block welded on the inside of the horizontal section?

tomtbone1993 10-20-2014 09:10 PM

Very nice work...

Where the angles are mitered? Just a tie in reinforcement so rather than rely on just a but weld, theres also 8" of fillet weld on each side of the weld seam

Don't laugh....Rustoleum mixed 4:1:1 with enamel hardener and acetone for thinner

Sonic700, icdedppl, and myself are big fans of rustoleum! I painted my old formula trailer with it. Its good chit , cheap amd durable. And quite glossy.

Craney 10-21-2014 04:43 AM

What was wrong with the trailer before, and why did you convert it to a fifth wheel? It looks great you do nice work.

Nothing really wrong with it, but I was planning on putting the second rail on it to take some of the 5 inches of crown out of it, and cutting off the tongue to get rid of the surge brakes. Just taking the crown out of the trailer raised the rear of the trailer 4". I can now pull in and out of places without dragging the rear of the trailer. The fifth wheel was just my preference

carter38 10-21-2014 07:21 AM

Very nice and, yes the pull awesome!

88bullet 10-21-2014 07:59 AM

nicely done!!!

It had a big sag to it with the high point over the axles. I really don't know what makes a myco so great, It really wasn't built all that strong. Without the boat on it the amount of flex in it was unbelievable

Shallow Minded 10-21-2014 07:26 PM

Very nice work!

yschmidt 10-21-2014 08:39 PM

Great Job!

SLOWRIDE-388 10-21-2014 09:34 PM

Damn nice job! We could use your welding talents on the farm.

Turned out great.

ICDEDPPL 10-22-2014 12:11 AM

I`d be afraid that on a steep launch that nose is going to be kissing the ladder. I put a rubber bumper on my winch stand cause theres been some marinas it was a close one. 31st comes to mind.Maybe it looks closer in the pics than it is.

Rbesola 10-22-2014 12:28 AM

Theres actually quite a bit more distance than there was... at the shootout I was on a really steep ramp and the winch drum got both sides of the bow... took care of that before the old girl gets a makeover in the next year or two!

Zero Patience 10-22-2014 08:21 AM

Very nice craftsmanship. Looks great.

Rbesola 10-22-2014 06:41 PM

See you on the river

That looks cool... First thing that came to mind was the Christmas Coca Cola commercial.:santa: Nice work

Stuckonstupid 11-03-2014 09:52 PM

Extremely impressive! I am envious of people with the foresight and aptitude to pull something like this off, my palms sweat if I plug in an angle grinder in the vicinity of my boat trailer for fear I may cut the tongue off by accident. Kudos to you! Is that snow on the ground in the last pic?

Just a gravel lot thankfully. Too early for that nonsense just yet!

And thanks all

Pokher Ace 11-04-2014 12:49 PM

Nice work!!!! How much length does the gooseneck add?

Right around 6'

abmotorman 11-04-2014 09:06 PM

Does it feel longer backing up or tight turns? Just curious of the impact of the extra length.

Yes you can tell its longer no doubt but its a pretty fair trade for how much straighter it pulls down the road!
