1984 38 Flat Deck project Hydrocephalus
So after deciding on buying a new aluminum trailer, I finally got my 38 flatdeck home, and have started the deconstruction. The plan is to tackle most of the cosmetic stuff this winter. The boat had been painted with Emron about 10 years ago, and has held up pretty well, it just needs a good buff and wax. I have just ripped out all the interior to be redone. I'm going to have it done just like it was originally, in my opinion you can't beat the classic look of the original style, and there are so few that have been left alone and not extensively upgraded to a more modern style.
The boat was local to me and the motors were built by Tony at CMS, here in Baltimore. They are 540s, bowtie blocks, Callies cranks, carrillo rods, JE pistons, hyd roller cams Edlebrock aluminum heads, estimated to be around 640hp each, the boat ran 68mph on gps with 6guys aboard in flat water, turning 5000 rpm with 26p bravo1s. The motors and velvet drive trannys have 30 hours on them.
here are some pics of it and what has been done so far:

Did a bit of cleaning in the cockpit area and in the cabin, also found some speedhut tachs to replace the suntune tachs that were in the dash. I am in the process of 3D modeling some new dash ans switch panels to rearrange the gauges a bit and loose the boost gauges that are not needed. also want to mount my Garmin 740 in the dash. also got all the original lights working in the engine compartment.
