Mine came from factory with its and -2 sportmasters . It was horrible to get on plane but would run 90 on GPS that way .. B blades tried sev times with my 4 blades to make it work got better but still tuff . Tried 5 blades night and day but lost top end . Ended up putting a 1" spacer in it and it's perfect only runs 86 but a pleasure to run

thanks for the info guys .i will start by taking the spacer out and see what it does . the main concern is the cone shape of the standard lower over 90 mph may affect speed.

mine has xr's with a spacer also , previous owner said he installed the spacer because it was loosing water pressure when trimmed up . BUT I don't have ITS or extension boxes . NOT for long I will have boxes at the end of the season for winter project .
also have been thinking of removing the spacers and going to a low water pick up , and hope it will introduce some prop slip for speed . 6% right now .

Maybe you guys will revisit this with me. I am now the owner of the boat in question. The boat has imco 2" shorties and 38p 6 blade Herings. It is a pain to get on plane with props spinning in, and worse spinning them out. I also need to keep and eye on water pressure.
I am concerned about how much strain the 6 blades put on the drives and I want to get on plane easier. So, I think I will add one inch spacers and switch to 32 Bravo's spinning in. Hopefully this will help all around with the exception of the possibility too much water pressure (there are extra holes drilled in the nose cone).
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

My Top Gun has standard XRs with 34 pitch, 5 blade Maximus props - diameter was cut down and labbed by BBlades. Originally had 32 bravos would run low 90s. The 5 blades are a great all around prop, planes a lot easier. Top speed is 88 - 90. Props are spinning out.
