Whats it Worth?

I've been thinking about selling my 1999 TG38. I have done a lot of work to it. Its a very clean TG with stock Mercury Bulldogs and Bravo XRs. It has AC and heat (shorepower)
Full new paint by Colorpro and full custom interior by XTinnovations, complete new panel by livorsi with Cig logos on gauges, LED lighting, full custom JL Marine Audio stereo system with bluetooth and hatch rework to updated style, windscreen. Just and incredible boat. Trailer is aluminum triple axle. Tires were replaced with new 3 years ago and its just been sitting since. So not sure the conditions of those. Boat has been stored indoors since I have owned it.
Trying to get an idea what I should ask for it should I decide to sell. (looking at getting a CC and would consider trade)

mmb 07-19-2015 02:21 PM

$85k I would imagine.

315duramax 07-19-2015 05:12 PM

That interior is SICK

airshares 07-19-2015 05:51 PM

Thank you. Its definitely one of a kind. People think its a new boat.

richanton 07-19-2015 06:49 PM

It's a beautiful boat, don't give it away.

Full Force 07-19-2015 08:25 PM

Great looking boat! I saw it when it was at XT, I spent tons of time there that winter... loved it!!!

Phil, XT is the chit for interior around here, guys come from all over to get the best!!!

Sweet ride, good luck with the sale

masi242 07-19-2015 09:55 PM

I remember reading the threads on your boat from when you bought it, well it looks beautiful some one will get a nice gun.

glassdave 07-19-2015 10:21 PM

I wouldn't "start" for a cent less then 110k and let that boat sell its self. It really is THAT nice, I had a lot of fun doing that boat. The XT interior is the icing on the cake, simply outstanding.

maybe give this guy a shout :D

Thanks Dave. You know this boat well and were instrumental in getting it to this point!! It would NEVER have happened without your hard work and help coordinating with XT and the stereo vendor.
I don't even want to think about what I have in this boat...lol!!!
It's not a position where I need to sell it and not even sure I want to but lately I'm thinking a nice CC would better suit me.

hey ive got a forty SeaRay in my future at some point lol holding off as long as I can. I do see the draw of CC's though, they really do make a lot of sense and these days they have plenty of performance to keep us happy.

mmb 07-19-2015 11:02 PM

Agree its super nice, but with bravo's and 75mph power I don't think he will get 100K. That is getting into twin step range. Jason's boat that was completely redone 100% with Whipple EFI motors didn't get over 100K............ Not even sure it sold in the $90K's

Full Force 07-20-2015 05:22 AM

In this markey, and the money spent.... I would keep it.... I could not imagine doing that pristine of a restoration and not dying with the boat lol

shepnic74 07-20-2015 06:18 AM

+1 on start at 110 love the paint/interior scheme

frickstyle 07-20-2015 07:46 AM

I am very curious, thought about what I would list mine at.

Let me know what it sells for, I might be right behind you.....

mmb 07-20-2015 09:27 AM

This is another reason why I was thinking around 85K

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...le-my-gun.html

Full Force 07-20-2015 09:30 AM

That's the thing to invest that much money and not use it for a while is insane, I use mine as much as I can and don't have nearly as much invested...

frickstyle 07-20-2015 09:43 AM

Shut up Tim, we don't wanna hear it.

You know I didn't mean it that way I'm just saying that after all that mess you would have to want to use it instead of selling

That was nearly a full season ago. Did that boat sell, and if so, at what price?
Clean used boat inventory is dwindling, not expanding. I would definitely not list that boat at $85K. I'm thinking Glassdave's number is a bit more appropriate and the actual sale number depends on how much time you spend examining all the work done on the boat.

Was just told its still for sale..... Hey i hope he does get 110K for it lol I will sell mine for 90K and go get my Outerlimits!!

tcwcar 07-20-2015 10:25 AM

I really don't understand it either, all that time and money spent, and bam a few months later it up for sale, Jasons cig, l_sotreo cig, now air shares cig, another one is the 90mph café with the 632s in it, all great boats, wish they would have been up for sale before I got mine. But hey its good for the painters that painted them, the interior guys, the motor guys so on and so on, and the next new owners...I guess when you pay someone to build and do the project for you, there's no blood and sweat involved, no love for the project and the accomplishment that you make when you do it yourself. I guess when your in that position you just sign the checks and want to know how much longer this is going to take till its done. And please don't take this the wrong way not trying to bash anyone, and sometimes I wish I could do that, but I have to do it myself if I want to play with one of these things, I think the other thing is that when you have one of these boats you need to have friends to run with, it would get old to have a boat like that and run alone all the time, here in the Chesapeake Bay area there are a lot of people to run with, and they run together all the time....I know for me your going to have to pry it from my cold dead hands....Maybe lol...

airshares 07-20-2015 01:28 PM

Its not that I just signed checks and have no love or appreciation for the boat. I had to work and save up the last 15 years in order to sign the checks for this boat. I always wanted a Top Gun and I do LOVE this boat.
I am not set on selling it, I am thinking about it. I have many reasons for considering a sale. A huge reason is I cant tow this boat and in Southern CA we don't have any indoor dry stacks. I will not let this boat sit and rot outside so my options for storage and use where I live are nil. I sent it to Kemah, TX where I have family and I store it on the lake in a dry stack with fuel, mx and plenty to do on the water. I see the boat about 4 times a year. Everyone I run with out there has CC's.

What part of Southern Ca? The Dunes in Newport Beach offers rack storage. But that is basically the only place I know of.

If you don't really care to sell it then yea start at 110k. You're going to sit on it at that price but maybe the buyer that absolutely has to have it will come along.

Boat is GORGEOUS! But the market is the market and it's just like dumping money into any hobby...You never get the money back out.

bingo!

airshares 07-20-2015 08:17 PM

Dunes doesnt offer rack storage. In fact the Dunes wont even store it for me on trailer as they say the largest they can accomdate is 36'.
Bellport at Lido is the only Dry stack with valet service but its Outdoors. There is no indoor rack storage woth launch services around here.

My bad. I was thinking of Lido, not dunes.

Lido doesn't have indoor racks?! Could've sworn they did.

No indoor, I wish. They have a waiting list even if I wanted to go there right now. Oh also they charge about 900 per month plus find storage for the trailer as they wont store that. Kind of a PITA

4195 07-21-2015 11:49 AM

The boat is absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately it is like putting an addition and upgrades in a house that is in a neighborhood of average homes. Most of us that have upgraded our boats will lose money. Some more then others, and the upgrades will help it sell quicker. The buyer will have to consider their resale down the road and I think this is what hurts the straight bottom market. Oh yeah and can stop this CC craze please. I thought it would be over by now!

The other option is put it in a storage unit / garage near wherever you are located and buy an old beater truck to pull it down to the ramp.

Not as ideal as rack storage with slip and fuel service but it'll be a lot cheaper and the boat will get use.

cig92 07-21-2015 09:52 PM

that's one nice cig, keep it and enjoy it until the market bounces back a little

offshoredrillin 07-22-2015 06:27 AM

Is keeping it at your house out of the question? I have my tiger and the trailer for my 20 in my driveway.

Im guessing if he is in the wonderful state of California, he probably has a home owners association that sh!ts purple twinkies if he has two blades of grass taller than 1.256 inches tall......

That's why we love on the beach with ZERO association dues. Kept the cig on a trailer 3 miles from the water.

Craney 07-22-2015 05:29 PM

I can move my Pantera out of my garage and put your TG in the garage just have to leave the keys.

Bingo on the CA part!! I dont have an association but the way my lot is (hills) wont allow storage of anything but the cars in the garage.

Yeah normally that would be ok if I lived in Chino. But at my airport they wont let you store boats in them. Its funny to me that with all of our coastline in CA they really do not make it owning a boat attractive unless you have a million plus dollar yacht, Sea Ra, or some type of boat that loves bottom paint and seagull crap.

mmb 07-23-2015 09:50 AM

We have HOA'a all over Florida. They can only fine you a certain amount - for instance mine is a 1 time $1,000 fine. So I park my boat next to my house because the fine is cheaper than storage elsewhere. None of the neighbors have a problem with it and there is nothing the HOA can do about it now according to there covenants and bylaws.
