Cig full of water - help!

I have left my cig mistress on a mooring bouy for 2 days and came back and the step into the cabin down from the cockpit is filled with a deep pool of water.
I turned on my bilge pumps to pump out but nothing came and looked under my engine room which was dry. it is so irritating and I cant seem to get it out. as the pumps only pump out water from the engine compartment. and it wont drain from the front into the back of the boat
can anyone shed some light.

Sounds like you have a clogged drain line. If you have a air compresser try blowing out the drain holes.

Water can only get in via the cockpit or an inlet/outlet below sea level. Do you have any drains for a sink or maybe a water inlet in the hull with a sea cock? I had water come into the cabin of a boat many years ago while we were anchored. It was an inlet for the toilet (straight flush thru) had broken. Ended up blocking the inlet with a cork which fitted from underneath until we got back to the marina and hauled her out. Even a transducer thru the hull could be responsible if it's not sealed well.

As Craney said, water should flow back into the bilge not forward, check all drains and hoses. If there is already a lot of water in the front she may be nose heavy and all water will now drain forward. Start her up and drive her slowly with the nose high and see if the water drains to the rear.

Good luck, hopefully you've already solved the problem by now.

My flat deck actually has a forward bilge pump located under the step at the cabin entrance . I guess this model did not drain all the way back to the bilge . Rick G.

Newer boats don't have a drain hole any more from the front to the back. About 8 years ago they made a law to stop it. You have a pump in the cabin some where.
Reason why they stop it fumes got up threw the holes when It was docked and killed a couple people sleeping.

^^^^^ We woke up one night and the entire cabin smelled like gas , so bad you could taste it. Leaking fuel tank and the ac sucked it into the cabin. Boat tried to kill us.

New tanks now but them holes from the bilge I sealed up tight.

I'm assuming the boat is now on the ocean floor and 'way2fast' is still crying too much to revisit the thread....

I think this is an issue through the sea strainers. Is there any way too stop them leaking

Dang, nearly 8 years later and still havent worked this out eh?
