Bring her up to Sebago Lake/Long Lake! There's a pile of us running around up here! Congrats on the purchase!

Sorry outlw36 I don't. I have just gotten back in to boating after 25 years. I've wanted a Top Gun since forever, this Tiger was to nice to pass up. I guess I'll have to suffer with it, Life can be so unfair! LOL
|
Anybody got a guesstimate on straight bottom Tiger production numbers?

Were will you be dropping in for the ocean? I drop in Boston most of the time but will try wells this year to go to Portland. |
That's a bad azz mo fo. Great price too. I've spend plenty of time behind the wheel of a #6 blown tiger.
I think you'll be hard pressed to get exact numbers of production for most cigs. I was trying to just keep up on 50's built in another thread and that was actually keeping track as they're building them, let alone going back 15-20 years! But cig builds for many customers all around the world and a lot of boats go over seas and are never seen by US eyes. I can tell you this - it was derived from the 42 Revolution (same bottom, different deck). They are monsters in big water and are very well handling. Super fun boat that screams pure offshore kick azz. Congrats on the purchase. That boat was on the west coast for a while. |

Congrats ! Looks spotless :drink:
|
That one belongs to billy in Virginia I think. Blue and white graphics, XR's ? Hope he brings it out this summer.
|
did you buy the blue one with red #6?
|
Yes 315 Duramax that would be it.
|
Hey owtlw 36 Have not really thought it out much, I may end up at a buds place in Wareham. I know it seems crazy, but I bought the boat and I'll figure out the rest of it later. She is snug as a bug in VA. for now inside and warm.
|
Thanks for the info thisistank. I know she was originally bought by a wealthy guy who also owned the 194' yacht Helios, kinda cool to see it in pics as part of his navy. I don't believe there was a budget issue, she is pretty much jammed with exotic/cool stuff, i e Carbon fiber K plane bottoms. Rumor is it was 700 k new, yikes! I was just trying to get an idea of build ratio of Tigers to T G's. Someone mentioned something like 117 Tiger straight bottoms, I thought that was strong.

Congratulations! The boat was originally commissioned by Lorenzo Fertitta (owner of the UFC). Sean Stinson can tell you all about the beginnings. Peter Pavkovich canalso give you some good background on it. I was lucky enough to spend some time back in 2002 on the boat in Miami. I can still remember running high-90's in snotty water when the steering wheel popped off. It's a monster in the rough and very loud! Have fun!

Congrats very nice.
The price was cheaper than the hardware. |
Hey Ironmanwb, That's kinda how I felt. I was originally looking for a T G. I got a good deal from a great guy who picked me up at the airport and shuttled me around (twice), took me out for over an hour, showed me 90 mph and left 300 gals. of stabilized fuel in her. Seller also paid for Chris Bowers to come up from N C and winterize the boat, he is a legend in those parts, and will continue to service her. The whole experience was very comfortable and positive, no what ifs, or buyer's remorse.

No way there was 170 straight bottom Tigers Not even close
Bet there wasn't more than 30 Went step around 2001-2002 and I think the earliest ones were around 97-98 Just guesses but I was pretty involved in the tiger scene for a while and I knew almost all of them Congrats Its a nice ride NK |
Thanks for the input Nauti Kitty. My bud said 117, I thought that was crazy, 30 sounds reasonable.
|
Not to hijack the thread . But could some one let me know the demensions of the Tiger hatch hinges ?
I'm changing the hinges on my flat deck and those hinges look perfect. Thanks RG. |
Congrats on your Purchase. I have the sister boat to yours, the 30' Mystique. Mine was built by the same owner as yours a couple of years after yours. Both have the same paint layout and colors.
Enjoy! |

It is worth it to wait Bud, I actually missed out on a Baja 36 Outlaw last September. Boat was in Canada, by the time my Passport came, I was about 2 days late. Owner sold that 99 rigged with Merc 900 sc and 6 drives on a trailer for 55K! I was not looking for a Baja, but price was a great value given the gear it was running. I waited to hit Powerball too, but at 63, I'm done waiting for much!
|
Thanks J240, My Tiger isn't an orphan!
|
If I had to take a guess on the number of straight bottom Tigers built, I would say somewhere between 18-28. And, that may even be high.

Hey outlw36, Still got to do some stuff : Drives and tabs going back to black, minor rash repainted, exhaust and silencers, wiring clean up, etc. I flew down to NC last Monday and met with Chris Bowers and discussed what needed to be done. Saw the beast on the trailer for the first time, Big Boy! Chris is a great young man, and immensely talented, but he works pretty much alone and at his own pace. Gonna be about Memorial Day, and I am fine with that. It is worth it to have a great guy doing the work right! Chris knows his stuff, He just stuck a new transom on an MTI cat, you would not believe his attention to detail, fabrication and painting skills, FLAWLESS! He is very, very, detail oriented and I love that!
|
If you have it back for Memorial Day, Lake Winnipesaukee might be a first good run.
I'll be there all weekend. I put the Gibson turn downs on mine, there nice and quiet at idle around the docks but come out of water on plane. |
