trying to do as much knowlede as possible, many people state problems with gas tanks .. can anyone expand on this issue , what years were prone to failure ect . thanks rob, best of luck to you guys

I don`t think any particular year had issues... you get to a certain age, welds become brittle, crack, leak. etc. After 25+ years of pounding will do that to any material no matter how good originally. Add foam that holds moisture to that equation and $hit happens.
