Hey Greek where you been all summer.

Mr. Cig.

How have you been? I haven't used the boat much, been too busy. Only have 21 hours on it!!! Next season I'm thinking about keeping it at Hammond on a lift. Maybe then I'll get out on it more. Keep in touch. Mike

MrCIG 09-27-2002 11:21 AM

Mike,
Good to hear from you. We are going to keep our boat in Hammond also next year. I bought a lift already I'm just waiting to see what slip I get. They won't know until December when the 1st. payments are due. I am hoping to get on T dock my second choice is V dock. We'll see what happens.

Are you going to make the COPS Halloween party at Hammond on October 26. It should be a good time.

Mark

GREEK LIGHTNING 09-27-2002 01:58 PM

Mr.Cig.

I don't think I will make the party, planning a trip out of town.

What size slip are you going to be in? I recently spoke to the marina director and he stated a 38' boat on a lift needs to be in a 45' slip. He also stated I didn't need a reservation for a 45'. There are plenty of them available.

Where did you get your hoist from? Which brand did you go with?

Is T or V dock the place to be? Why?

MrCIG 09-27-2002 05:19 PM

Mike,
There are alot of 38 footers on lifts in 40 foot slips on T dock.
I bought my lift from a guy who sold his 38 Baja that was on T dock. It a 12,000 lb Hydro Hoist.
T dock is the place to be thats where most of the offshore boats are. T dock is 40 foot slips V dock is 45 foot slips.
They may have changed something about 38's on lifts needing to be in 45 foot slips but I haven't heard anything.

The main dock is alot more fun then the west side of the marina.

Greek Lightning / Mike -

OT here, but you have the best looking Top Gun I have ever seen   That paint is absolutely stunning.

I saw your TG on the Cigarette Owners Poker Run / Reunion that Stu put together back in March or April . . . my girl and I rode along with Hal and Mindy on their new TG " Miller Time " though there was no name on it then.

Mark -

you're Paulie's brother ? You and I may have met . . did you go to the Cigarette party at Billboard during the Miami boat show ? I saw / talked with Paulie and Mike as they were going into Billboard and we were coming out, and there was a few people with them . . . just curious. Say hello to Paulie and Mike for me if you talk with them anytime soon.

MrCIG 10-04-2002 08:23 AM

Yes Jamie, Paulie is my brother. I'll tell him you said hello.

No sorry I wasn't in Miami for the show.

Have a good one.

Mark

GREEK LIGHTNING 10-04-2002 12:57 PM

Jamie, thanks for the compliment. Could you describe which Cig you were on. I think I know who you are but I can't be sure.
A few days ago I received the pictures from Stu Jones from that run. They look incredible. First time I saw my boat from a Helicopter's perspective. Video should be coming soon also.

Mark,
I ended up buying a 20000 lb Hydrohoist. It was used only one season and had been sitting in dry storage for about 4-5 years. It's massive. Now I have to figure out how to move it to Hammond. I am dealing with a guy from Oselkas' Marine that does that kind of work. I going to have it disassembled and moved to my shop then moved again to Hammond in the spring. Sounds like a lot of work but I want to get it out of the storage yard so it doesn't get blocked in until late May. I want to have the hoist in the water end of April. Over the winter I'm going to have a full cover made for my boat. It will cover down to the chines. Do you have a cover or have you given one any thought?
Keep in touch. Mike

Mike -

We were on the TS TG that has 500 EFI's in it, with colors of Yellow / Blue / and Redish Orange . . took some photos of it, there around here somewhere . . I'll post them. No name on it, and there was just us 4 on it.

I gave you the thumbs-up one time when we where side by side and idleing, when we where all milling around by the 17th St. bridge.

Cant wait to see the video !

Mark -

Thats cool. I'm sure I'll run into / meet up with you one day. I use to trailer my Cafe' w/ 600's down and run on the big lake, but now I'm up on the Chain-O-Lake's with ( temporarily ) a Donzi Express Cruiser.

Take care Guys.

MrCIG 10-07-2002 09:07 AM

Mike, Thats great. I have a cockpit cover that I had made last year. But over the winter I want to get a bow cover made that will attach to that. The boat came with a full cover but it's in pretty bad shape so I don't use it. Let me know what slip you get.

Mark

GREEK LIGHTNING 10-08-2002 09:22 PM

Jamie, I'm almost certain I remember who you are. I can't remember names but faces I never forget. Will you attend the reunion, if they have one, next year? Hope to see you on the water next season.

Mr. Cig. I contacted a guy who comes to your home or marina and custom makes covers for you on the spot. Pricing was very reasonable and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
If you are ever in the area of Orland Park, stop by my shop at 14200 S. LaGrange. I'm there almost everyday. Are we planning any OSO get togethers this winter?

Yes, I'd like too . . . I sure hope that the new regime at Cigarette will provide Stu with a list of Cigarette owners though, so that it will be much bigger. That strategy (?) of NOT giving Stu a list of owners to contact was bull**** . . Stu had to use his OWN list of Cigarette owners, that had attended his poker runs over time. What was up with that ? ?

That is, or course, if they contract out Stu again to do the reunion / poker run again.

Anyway, I/we had fun regardless :)

plasterd 10-09-2002 07:22 PM

I know about 20 owners who would be glad to get together and smoke the water...and if you guys come down for the winter we'll have our own run, shedule looks good for winter, going on run this weekend to regatta..

GREEK LIGHTNING 10-09-2002 07:36 PM

Plasterd,

How the heck have you been? How's the family? I would love to send the boat down for the winter. I don't think I can get away as much as I would like though. It's a ***** working soooo much!!! Keep in touch. Mike

Jamie,

That would be cool if a lot more boats participated. Hopefully the new owner would consider doing another reunion. If he doesn't I say we all sell our Cigarettes and buy Powerplays from Titos!!!
That will teach um':D

plasterd 10-09-2002 07:51 PM

GREEK LIGHTNING 10-10-2002 08:38 AM

Plasterd,
The same goes for you here in Chicago. I might make the trip down for the Lauderdale show. I just had knee surgery and I have to see how well I could get around. Are you planning on going? If so we should plan on hooking up.
