Curious, maybe there is no difference, but which boat will offer a better ride in the rough water, a straight bottom Top Gun or a 38 Flat Deck. Maybe no difference, hulls pretty similar, I would guess there is a weight difference between them. Any thoughts?

Zero, diff between #5, and #6 boats?

I thought the flat decks and top guns were basically the same bottom, diff being any notches added in the late 80s. Tog Guns maybe a tad lighter. Were the stringer arrangements vastly different?

From what I seen looking at both boats and knowing a few with each, the flat deck is much heavier in many cases, has more structure and no notch in transom, the gun rides much more bow light and is a lighter boat "normally" also with a notch you lose leverage to keep bow down, I thin k both ride amazing but I would say a FD is a tad better mostly due to weight.. that's just my opinion though for what I like in a ride quality, you for sure would not be disappointed in the ride of ANY Cig...

The camera makes em look like not a whole lot but I do like the way The Flat Deck eats em up.

Personally depending on spacing I prefer to get on top of em whenever possible, which can be interesting with the occasional roque wave on the big pond
