Thanks. Engines are Gellner, 572 cube w/ 14-71s drives are no.5s on boxes.

May be a run of bad luck, but there were some mistakes made along the way. Just letting Dean make it right, too late to start with another builder, plus probably double the repair bill at this point if I went elsewhere. Out of respect for Dean's business, I am trying to remain civil about the whole situation. At the end of the day, I just want the boat to run.

Trust me, I am beyond frustrated. (Not trying to highjack your thread, sweet boat btw).

The frustration of rebuiling yet again would long be forgotten spending 5-7k with another builder to have them built right and be done with this insanity...

I appreciate your constructive feedback, your point is painfully obvious. Giving the man a chance to make it right, that is all.....

I had the same teething pains with a builder as well. I was fuel injected however (way more complex for the average guy IMO) few shy of the magic 1000 mark.

I had to have a conversation with him about my expectations and the fact I was paying the high coin for an outcome. NOT an experiment. (ENGINE had less than an hour. First time in boost failure.)

Drove up and took it apart with him.

We agreed on only parts cost for the next round (labor was on him) took the boat to young performance marine and let Eddie tune it... (best $ I've dropped in the hobby period).

Boat is gone, but last report was 175 hours trouble free boating. Moral is... it can work out if he is diligent and interested in making you satisfied.
