This is why I still love this forum. Cigarette brothers (and sister) in general are honest and candid and don't seem to inflate performance results (unlike several other manufacturer forums / threads) . You're bang on QF, the 101.5 we achieved was October air, cool water and just wife and I. Six drive had a slight reduction on top-end but improved handling. We now have the 42X w/1100's and love it but there will always be a special place in my heart for the 39 Unlimited.

I'd say your spot on . Ours had 700s and 6s, she was good for 101 all day , withe the right load I saw 103 , it took a little time to see the last 2 mph, but again it was 4 people and under half capacity of fuel, air temp was around 100 , this was in lake Havasu.

When you run the best, you don't need to inflate results! On any given Sunday, ( just like in the NFL) things and results can change. The value of running a Cigarette - from an old school flat deck, to a newer stepped hull, lies in the romance and sex appeal established by Don all those years ago. I am an old man now, but still fondly recall all the timeless, racy ad's that ended with "Does this mean I get a ride in your Cigarette?" I recognize that there are other brands that are equally fast, cool, innovative or possibly as well built, but I don't care. When I am fueling up, and a total novice comes up to chat about the boat and says something like "Is that what you call a cigarette boat?" I just point to the big oval and say "No, this IS a Cigarette!". When a brand name becomes the generic symbol of the genre, that is a great validation of achievement. Just my opinion !

It's not just about how fast the boat goes but how it goes fast...
How does it handle at speed, how does it ride, does everyone on board feel safe and comfortable.
There is a reason there is a #1 on the side!
