New owner of 2002 Cigarette Tiger Anyone know this boat?
4 Attachment(s)
Just bought my first Cigarette. Sold the Fastech 382 and purchased this boat. It is going to be a long winter. The boat was originally from California for the first two years of it's life. Previous registered with USCG under Show Time as the vessel name. That was until 2006 when it disappeared. Presumably went to Canada and has remained there until I bought it for use on LOTO. Everything checks just trying to find old owner for service records as these did not come with the boat. Anyone know the boat as Canada has less than stellar records on vessel registry.

Welcome to the club and nice Tiger!!

Tank may know since it was out in Cali. May have to give him a day or two to respond. He is most likely still sobering up from key west.... ;)
|
Congrats!!!
I don't believe this was a SoCal boat...never saw it around here. It maybe a boat from the Delta (fresh water). Maybe try contacting bigcatpokerrun.com and asking around. |
The boat was out in Chicago area then went to Canada. I sent you a dm

And yea, literally still hung over! |
It's from Vancouver. Ask Alex haxby about it. The owner died
|
Any idea how to get a hold of him? Got a pm that said the story isn't pretty???? Has me wondering now.
|
Do you know the previous owners name? Trying to find service records on it. The drives have been gone through. Map sensor fixed not sure what else big thunder had done with it waiting on the service records. Can you pm me the name of previous owner? Thanks. Jimmy graham. Has my wife kind of freaking out.
|
Any time Nate. The house is always open for you for a visit. Poker run in July?
|

Not worried about the death history more if it were wrecked or beat. I'm fine with broken drives too the boat has a fresh set on now so no worries about that. I had planned to bleach it down and clean it up. May get some hospital grade disinfectant. Just to be safe:eekdrop: |
Head gaskets if not done. Check thermostat housing for corrosion. Get the blowers sent to TBS. For starters.
Not sure if you said hours but I would go ahead and do Heads too. Then buy a spare XR lol. |

A good friend of mine owned the boat when it was here in Chicago and sold it to the guy in Canada. At that time, the boat was named "Show Stopper." Congrats on the purchase...seriously beautiful boat!

Ed posted pics running it a few times on MWBP. |
Thanks, it is a very pretty boat, I will probably run it through next summer and try to freshen it up next winter as it runs great right now. The last name it had on it was Show time and belonged to a not so good guy in Vancouver that is no longer with us. Ok that was a very politically way of putting it, but it is in good hands again and I will get it back to its former glory in time.
|
Dave,
Great looking boat. oogled it the other day over at PBC. I would check with Ed and see if he has any more info on it, Griff is right it was over at BT most of the summer if not earlier. |

Know what you are saying. Sometimes you find stuff out after the fact. Make it yours a and enjoy it . LFj |
I bought the boat from Ed, and he was absolutely great to work with, but he was given limited info to work with, so I originally reached out here to see if anyone knew what motor work may have been done to it. I have E mailed the marina in Vancouverto see what they know, other wise I will just run it and enjoy.
Thanks to Ed and everyone at Big Thunder, and looking forward to seeing every one on LOTO, next spring! |
Didn't Cheng own this Tiger for a short time ?
|
Phuck! I will never catch u now!
Congrats man. Hope i get a ride this summer -shane. |
Hey Shane, sorry I have not been on here in awhile. Yes you can come for a ride any time, but I think your velocity is about as fast! I will tell you though, I think buying a boat late fall is the worst thing a guy could possibly do, and it is snowing here right now, I'm dying!!!
|
Ill just be happy if the velocity runs and avoids anymore kamikazze drivers. Only had it out 1 time since the new motor but i can tell a big difference
Ran into steph right before xmas sounds like the cig is a nice ride. You will probably have to drop anchor so we can keep up. We are probably going to be down beginning of june. Yes we need a fast forward button for winter. |
Nice boat! Put that thing in heated storage and clean/wax the sh!t out of it..... ALL winter!
|
Great Looking Boat. Best of Luck!
|
Thanks, it is inside and I have already started taking some the interior out that needs some detail work done to it, and some helm work to gages and the gps plotter. The paint work actually looks very good.
|
Is this the boat that the drives were missing then it showed up at Ed's place.
|
Yes it is, it has rebuilt XR's on it now.
|
Wax that boat with Rejex! You can get it on Amazon, best stuff I ever used on Cig. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

What 575 boat Doesn't have rebuild XRs ;) |
Well I went to the lake for a couple of days and went to work on the boat a little and saw something new. As you go into the cabin right below the dash pad, there is a Cig logo and under it says, National Edition embroidered in silver. I have never seen one, does anyone know what a National Edition is?
|
national marine?

I guess that would make sense for a Cig dealer to have there name put on it, but they must not have done it very often. Is there still a National Marine Cig dealer somewhere?
|
There is no National Marine anywhere. National Marine went belly up and took a lot a people's money with them.
There are a bunch of old OSO threads from around 2004 about them. |

That's what I was thinking. The boat was probably originally from there, and they were trying to put their own "special spin/sauce" on it like Phil does. But you can't duplicate Phil's touch.
