Purchased my first Cigarette

Couple weeks ago I purchased my first Cigarette and I absolutely love it, so I just wanted to share my Top Gun! I also wanted to see if anyone has any info on this boat, I know it came from Miami area and after talking to Phil he said they didn't paint the boat but it is a 1996 Lip Ship Kevlar TG. Just trying to get a little history on it, and I'm sure I will have several questions over the next several months with a few upgrades I want to do.

Nice looking boat....when I saw your post I realized I had not seen the Sonic on KY lake for several years. Assuming you've been out of boating for a few years that's a nice way to get back in the game!

Nate5.0 12-01-2016 03:30 PM

Beautiful boat, was for sale for ever and never understood why.

Unlimited jd 12-01-2016 03:37 PM

That's not the one that fast boats had listed for a long time is it?

Yeah, I sold the Sonic back in 2014. Thanks and look forward to seeing you on the water.

Very cool paint for a 90's boat!

carter38 12-06-2016 08:54 AM

Man I had one just like that for a couple weeks lol. It's a nice boat once we got it back here I couldn't believe this thing sat on the market for as long as it did.

cigrocket 12-06-2016 09:27 AM

Wow, that thing looks clean, nice find and welcome aboard!

See you at Old Hickory 2017?

VortechSS 12-06-2016 12:10 PM

It was brought to OK and refreshed with the help of Carter38. She's a great boat and will be greatly missed. If I don't have another one by the Cig rally next year, save me a seat!

Soon as I get it back together, right now it looks like a tornado hit it haha. I have the grab handles getting painted and might go ahead and do the bolsters, then replacing the controls with Livorsi arched controls and replacing the control cables. I'm also converting the trailer to EOH with new brake lines and a couple new bunks. I have a punch list of stuff before Tickfaw!!

f_inscreenname 02-13-2017 01:53 PM

Congrats Bud, very sharp TG.

Jim Diesel 02-27-2017 09:29 AM

Been cleaning all the nook's and cranny's while waiting on parts, found a place to get the gas shocks for the cabin hatches at a reasonable price so I replaced them since mine were rough! Cables are in but now waiting for the shifter/throttles to arrive and other parts to get back from paint! But a lot of stainless that still needs polished!

Hey Jim, Not for nothing, but my TG is much easier to operate with the seats facing forward! Is this a new configuration to assist in quick planing? Dude, what am I missing? LOL!!! :silenced:

PS - where did you find the struts?

Where did you get the replacement twist deals for your cover? (I have no idea what the correct term for them is)

Buck

I will send you a PM where I bought them but from their called DOT Twistlock 2 screw stud. They have a short or a tall twistlock.
