The price is $80k or it gets sold in parts.

PowerboatsNW 12-13-2016 03:50 PM

For how much time you have spent looking at this boat it would have been cheaper to get a ticket and look at it. It has pin cleats!

I have told everyone interested in this boat all the history I know (Including the spin out).I have talked to Tres several times about this boat. The boat was set up with shorter drives for racing when that happened. He was never in the boat when it spun out. How many v-bottom race boats haven't spun out at one point or another? I have no problem selling the parts and putting it back together with bigger power and taking it to the races. I could see a set of 700's in the future.

Joe, I didn't come on here to blast you and didn't think I had? If I did then I apologize but I think given the boat is still around I am one of the only serious buyers that was still possibly out there on this boat. At the end of the day this is a piece of fiberglass that for whatever reason nobody will pull the trigger on even at $79K and wouldn't when you had it listed as parted out on ebay either. I came on here for info to the boat so I can make a wise "smarter" decision (if it's even a smart choice to buy boats). I sure hope to hell you aren't taking shots. You shot me 80K back in May on this boat on the phone when we talked. I have offered you $70K for this boat you know it, I know it and now everyone knows it. I told you March was our time because we didn't want to store it over the winter etc. and I had to recover from building a house etc. I can go on but won't. At $80K given the history and how it's rigged I think you will have a hard time, no matter how bada$$ it looks...as much as I love it I pass. Part it and good luck.

Schweeng 12-13-2016 04:56 PM

80k???? 80K and that is still not a good deal??? How much fun would this thing be to do a bunch of poker runs...or key west run...... **** show up with this thing in KW and you're like a rock star...all those performance boat freaks :) would love to see this Glad back in Florida again.

bck 12-13-2016 04:57 PM

About how many of these were made? Of those, how many side by side?

Schweeng 12-13-2016 05:04 PM

Made this video for SCOPE
side by side......runs real nice!!!!

That boats bad ass. Period. Love the videos of it running. Looks like it's glued to the water. I'd love to buy it.

Schweeng 12-13-2016 05:10 PM

Tank....this has your name on it......

cigrocket 12-13-2016 05:16 PM

Fact is a cheap plane ticket will tell the story. You can't/buy on speculation. Opinions are like as*hole*s, everyone has one. You aren't going to drop the coin without checking it out. Especially an older machine. Pics look great, plane ticket is worth it. Then make an educated decision. Simple. $500 vs. 80k.......no brainer

F-2 Speedy 12-13-2016 05:18 PM

nice video.......

PowerboatsNW 12-13-2016 05:21 PM

I wasn't taking shots. It's a little confusing when you say your kicking tires. Some of the comments about it needing a drive and no cleats confuse other people looking at the boat. The drives are good. The motors are good. The boat is good. The trailer is supreme. Yes, It's an Ex Race boat. It was set-up and built by Tres Martin. It was then sold to Bob Bull and was completed rebuilt and made into a pleasure boat. Everything was rebuilt or replaced. Like I said I can get close to $55k for the parts and trailer. At $70k I'd rather sell the parts for 55k and use the boat as Lawn Art. That's why $80k is bottom dollar.

Hahaha. Not with a 3 year old a 7 year old and a wife that loves a cabin. Lol.

But I would LOVE to own that glad. I really like it.

PowerboatsNW 12-13-2016 05:25 PM

That's exactly why this boat has not sold on the west coast! I love sit down boats!

HOSSMAN 12-13-2016 05:41 PM

To say the least. It was a bobber, stripped repo'd sat out a few years in a yard and then the dude from Texas put it back together.

I don't think it's just a west coast thing. Glads have a small targeted market. They're basically a Ferrari of the water. Takes a special buyer to want one so the market is smaller. But like the saying goes - there's an azz for every seat.

I wouldn't strip it though. I'd hold on til spring. It'll sell at 80

THE 288 KID 12-15-2016 02:42 AM

theres 4 types of people when it comes to gladiators in my opinion...

people that like them.
people that don't.

within those you have...

people that know they want one.
people that are not sure if they want one.

4 things drive Gladiator prices.

obviously market
condition
history
sxs or staggered

the one that recently went to Michigan is mine. was it my first choice for a gladiator? no. what ive learned about these is you either buy them when they surface, or spend months if not years waiting for another. ive had a gladiator boner since 2010. everything I was told id hate about it I love. no rub rail. no cabin. sit down. small cockpit etc etc. and omg... let me tell you... they trailer awesome! ive used my 2015 Silverado 1500 several times to haul it.

sounds like your best bet is to get on a plane and go put your hands on it. nobody on here should be able to sway you one way or another if you are intelligent. not saying that you are not.

i had 0 issue and pay like 900$ a year for a true 100mph, no tall tales to the insurance company about power yada yada glad insurance. did not ask about tanks etc etc

credit union didn't require a survey either.

as for the speculation on what i paid for my boat and using that as a reference know that within 1.5 hours i blew a drive and the last outing of the year port motor let go and now they are both getting redone as well as the other drive.

so with that said, any power or drive info that can be proven on this sxs glad should be worth something to you in terms of either delayed cost of repairs and/or no loss of time during boating season.

bobby berk is a great reference for anything cig.

288 KID how much does your boat weigh? I heard they are all pretty light. thats free speed right there! Love these boats!

HOSSMAN 12-15-2016 07:32 AM

288Kid you and I are friends on FB, your boat is beautiful IMO, have always liked it. Mywife Keli and I are ones that like them and know we want one, just seem right for all the boating that we do. Our home lake is small and my in-laws have a 38' Sea Ray that we sleep on and party on, just raft off in Party Cove or at the dock.

Bobby and I have talked and texted quite a few times since this thread started and I have talked to a few others as well. Thank you all for your considerations and input. To those I may have offended along the way I apologize as that isn't my style. As Joe says and I said when I sold boats "There is an ass for every seat"...(pun and no pun intended lol). Nothing is perfect, we all know that. Still love this boat in question....it's one of those I walk away from then catch myself saying damn.

they claim 7800 dry. carry 150 gallons. figured with typical non poker run load on it going to the lake with trailer its 10,500ish?

Most people who don't like Gladiators usually frequent "Transgender" bathrooms.

The guy that sold the glad has a zrc for sale too.

HOSSMAN 01-11-2017 07:00 AM

There are a couple, not many. I have been looking for a while at them. Most will be word of mouth.

Yep, I know that boat. It was commissioned by Harry Proctor at Offshore Performance back in the day. I was on it in the shop at least once or twice. It's not what I'm looking for though. :(

The chap who ownes it chimed with great info on another recent thread on sit-down go-fasts.
