Yea, that day was one Active Thunder owner trying to talk two beaker owners into going boating in crappy water conditions.:ernaehrung004:

Wonder where it's going on Cali. That is crazy cheap for that boat! But it's the same ol thing, low buy in for used boats and high maintenance compared to high buy in with new boats and low maintenance. It's a conundrum and the worlds evil plan to screw with us moderate boaters.

Definitely a cool old Cig. Im sure with some TLC it will be a nice ride. Seller had a video on his facebook page, that shows him cranking the engines over. Really only shows the dash. Looked like it was in need of a dash makeover, new gauges, panels, switches, etc. Was all old mismatched stuff. But for 38g, not bad . |
Few confirmations...#3a drives,, no notch transom,, 2 sets of props 3 blade and 4,, 1/4 cabin,, stainless marine exhaust,, he owned a Fountain in the past. he did not know cam or head specs.

Even a better deal with the 3a's
|
So what year is this thing, ad states 89, I'ce stated no notched transom, my buddy has a 89 TG and the transom is notched, was this the first year of the notch ?? some did and others didnt.
|
88 was first year for the notch.

If it had #4 's , 5's, or 6's, it probably wouldn't have needed that excessively tall engine hatch.

boat is a 1987

The boat is a 1987 with 3A's. We had a deal on it last weekend until the year discrepancy, the drive discrepancy, and a couple of other small things. My buddy and I were going to buy it as a fun boat, and at some point have Carter work his magic on it, but after the discrepancies I got a gut feeling that didn't go away. If the owner didn't know what year it was and what drives it had on it, then how was maintenance performed properly. That didn't exactly give me a warm fuzzy feeling and this "inexpensive" boat could turn into a money pit in a heartbeat.
I wish the best to the new owner as this is definitely a unique and cool boat. I love the old school dash and overall look.(except for the decals) |
