Hi All. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a '99 Top Gun and had some basic questions. This is my 4th boat, been boating for 20 years so consider myself somewhat knowledgeable, but admit this is my first Cigarette (mostly Baja before). Please forgive my ignorance here...
1) It has two 110 gallon fuel tanks and two gas gauges, but I see no transfer switch. Is there a switch somewhere I'm missing or is the flow between the two tanks constant?
2) Where is everyone mounting an amplifier? This has the full cabin, and I see absolutely no place where it would be both out of sight but still get airflow.
3) What is the chrome thing by the passenger side seat (they all seem to have it)? I did not have a chance to take a closer look at it.
4) Where are the freshwater and wastewater holding tanks? What about the pump for the freshwater?

I think that is all for now. Boat is not being advertised on OSO, but has passed a marine survey with flying colors and mechanical (compression/leakdown) so hopefully just a matter of time.

Amplifier in the closet on the left in the cabin, no transfer pump, but they have ball valves under the access plates in the bilge

1)They drain equally. But note, the gauges will drop slower when full and then FAST under 1/4 tank because the cells are V'd.
2) as stated, in the small closet opposite of the head. I mounted 5 (one on the ceiling of the closet and still put fenders in there and never had them over heat).
3) fresh water flush for the cockpit. Stupid and I don't think anyone's ever used one in their cigarette...EVER.
4) don't know exactly where the tanks are, I want to say in front of the fuel cells. I believe the pumps are under the helm if memory serves me right. Or maybe in the head under the toilet. I don't remember - never used the head or fresh water. Lol

On my 1994 Cigarette Top Gun, the waste tank can only be seen if you take out the toilet. To get to the freshwater pump, you have to take out the panels inside the storage area (closet) on the port side where they are putting their amps.
I took out my toilet and holding tank and covered the hole with a custom cut plastic. I don't recommend using the toilet. Sticks really bad if you live in an area where it gets100 degrees. TEXAS. Bring a bucket for the girls or buy a portable toilet.

1- As Tank said- you get to 1/4 tank you Better find Fuel
4- Its called a Poop deck on the back of the boat for a reason- Head is for in the Bed

Thanks everyone! Agree - I have never used the head on any previous boat, but just curious. Plus I boat LOTO and if the water is too cold, well chances are their is a bar/restaurant less than 1/2 mile away... The boat is a '99 Lip Ship, apparently owned by Phil himself for a while and then sold to a guy from Michigan in '07 timeframe where it was mostly stored. It will likely be the slowest Cigarette on LOTO with stock 502 MPI's, but was looking more for quality ride versus speed for my wife, 7 year old and 4 year old. I'm used to the old 29 Outlaw I just sold, so I'll be the guy taking forever to park at the docks. This is not the last of my questions - will likely have many more once I take delivery. As you said, you may not be the fastest Cig out there but you'll be there every day because stock 502's will never let you down. Good choice IMO.
