Steering column options
 

I'm trying to figure out a way to re-angle my steering column...if at all possible... I was curious if there was a angled shim one could fit to the Char-lynn valve then a tapered collar for the base of the steering column. Or if that's a fictional pipe dream what are my options; I'm looking to be able to tilt the wheel up another 10 degrees +/-. Apart from a new Zeiger or Imco tilt helm were there any other nice OEM helms to look for? Didn't some older TGs or Cafes come with tilt helms? Thanks guys..

If the helm is long enough, you can use angled plates inside and out, enlarge the hole and possibly need longer bolts. Without grinding any glass.

It's tight back there, no room for shims. The Tilt is the way to go, the Everett performance is nice. But I have never seen a need to change it. I'm 6'4 and it's great

That is basically what was done on my 32 AT. No brand name on the piece.

Ok, so theoretically parts do exist to achieve this, correct?

It did in 1997 when my boat was built. The outside part is nice billet piece. The backside has some wedge plates.

Had tilt with the old cable steering column on the Bicycle. But we are currently putting full Mayfair steering on had to look at this option. By reversing the wedge - It helped us push the 4" column helm back in the dash to gain some needed space.

Alright thanks; is that plastic? Do you have some good pics of your assembled helm?
