Wasn't the purple/green a #6 boat with center steer and foot throttle and built for the Catalina ski race?

i dont think 35k is crazy for the hull, i think if it could be gotten between 20 and 25 would be better though.

Oh god!! Why did they sand off the history! I loved the period paint on that boat! That was 50% of what I loved about it.. It actually gave it some shape too.. Now its just dull... |
Rhythm and Blues I couldn't agree more. As I begin to look more seriously for another boat, I tend to look past those that have been "updated" because they will eventually be dated but never classic. It's kinda like the old Corvettes that had the inner edge of the rear fenders ground down to accommodate fat tires at the drag strip. If they were damaged, that is different but otherwise they can't ever be made whole again. Now one just has magenta piping on the seats to deal with.

Thanks. Will have to check his stuff out.

Can always paint it back. All they did was paint the hull and deck. |

So they did make an Evolution with Triples too?
|
The white one at Cumberland is at Legacy Marine, Steve Lopez has it and has cared for it forever. It was knocked off its lift years ago , probably early 2002's to mid. That trailer would probably cost you $50 K to build know days.

That might have Pulse drives on it.

This boat was discussed on Facebook couple weeks back, never verified but it was said to be a 1996 Evolution with triple 600 Hawks but later converted to diesels. When I had first saw the post on FB I thought it was a Top Gun, but later on it was verified it was a 42'

There were only 4 Evolutions built and one was destroyed in fire as I recall. If you look at this boat, it has the Tiger deck (not the Evolution deck), full 90's cabin (Evolutions did not) and the 90's Tiger dash. This may be the very first Tiger actually built (not the green and white leafy one everything believes was) but just wasn't dubbed "Tiger" yet. Kind've an anomaly and pretty cool. |
Ok, so this thing was so perplexing I had to go to the source. I get all nerded out about this sh!t. So, according to Craig Barrie this is a Revolution / Evolution hull with a stretched Top Gun deck. He said he thinks they made 4 of them. Theyre basically another link in the evolution to the Tiger. The Tiger deck has a slightly more raised profile. Really a cool boat. I dig the lines of it.

Nice job on the research Tank! Interesting history for sure... |
Yes, very neat! By just looking I thought it was a 95+ Top Gun because of the deck, bilge intake vents, interior and cabin. One person thought it might had been this boat below.

Learn something new everyday. Cigarette really did a lot of one off (or a few off) straight custom builds in the late 80's through 90's. |
orange bezels and shifters, orange in the cabin

thats a hell of a deal if its real

i could be wrong but i thought all the 01 tigers were stepped, thats the first thing that caught my eye for suspicion. 00 was the first year of vacuum bagging and mine was the first for that, then i think all 01s were stepped. also look at the pic of the cockpit, under the dash pad it says national marine

Interesting Tank. So it's an interesting hybrid/crossover between evo-tiger
The deck on that orange one is different than my tiger - it's got those "strakes" running lengthwise, mine is flat across. Cabin door isn't a molded step door, got that compass in the middle. Cool history... |
