Yes. These had a stretched Top Gun deck, so the strakes on the bow are there and the dash and cockpit resemble a gun. Most likely why Jim Diesel thought it to be a Gun when he first saw it. It's apparently another step towards the Tiger from the Revolution with the bubble deck to the flat deck Evolution (4 made, 3 left) to this, which actually has "Evolution" designation on the side of the fairing in one of the old pics. Craig said he thinks they built like 3 or 4. Built them to race, all went over seas but these were built after the flat deck Evolutions and still used a different deck than the Tiger. Sweet boat either way. I really dig the look and aggressive stance, layout, full cabin, etc. Would be a fun runner with some 6's and big power staggered twins. Wave crusher.

Thisistank I'm glad you cleared that up it has been driving me crazy trying to figure out which models these are. These look to be another 2 of them I believe the military boat and the flame paint job boat are the same ones if I remember correct the flame boat was seized for running drugs overseas and the second one was in Japan when the photo was taken.

You see stuff a lot from all over Europe but not much from Japan ever. Kenny Boyce's American flag Tiger went over there and was never seen again. Sounds like most of the Evolution and Top gun decked 42's went over to Asia. That military boat looks like it might actually be a 46. It's got a huge bow. |
You are right nothing seems to get posted from Japan, I've always wondered the story with the 6 pack Cafe sitting next to the 42 in my first photo. The only reason why I think the military boat is a stretched 38/42 is because of the dash lay out and it has the same hatch as the other 42's its hard to make out in the photos they uploaded pretty blurry for some reason.

Craig borrowed from all kinds of models to make stuff in the late 80's and 90's (such as the stretched gun deck on the 42). That military boat is a trip though. Looks to me like a 46 but maybe its just the angle. Hard to tell what exactly it is. And that Cafe is a trip. Looks like it's just a dropped in 6 pack and the boat is pretty normal besides that. Here's another pic of it.

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4393517a1a.jpg I should have looked at the drives on the military boat that differently does seem to be a triple so most likely not the same boat as the flame boat |

Foreign countries are funny to me. The state these boats end up in and the stories behind how they got there are often times so bizarre

There are a lot of wealthy people in Europe and Asia so boats that we would repair/restore are more or less disposable to those type people.

Oh god!! Why did they sand off the history! I loved the period paint on that boat! That was 50% of what I loved about it.. It actually gave it some shape too.. Now its just dull... the paint was literally falling off the boat. He took all the graphics off with a razor blade. There’s plenty of pics around of the old paint and it can be painted back the way it was if someone wanted. |

Keep the paint on the sides, cut the deck out and throw triple 450’s on it. That one they did in the islands is bad azz.

Email me, I’ll get some. Going over there this week the current owner is friends with the last owner and has been servicing it for years.

That's a real shame someone had done a really nice job on that boat. Revos aren't everyone's cup of tea, but a lot had gone into that one. Shame to see it sitting under the pines.....
For the most part, the hull itself/paint still look quite good, but the boat is completely gutted. |
I would buy this in a heart beat but have to dispose of my Formula PC in similar condition first.

Man, I think I even just teared up a little. That is sad.
|
^^What he said. That is sad to see something done so nicely get to its current state

That breaks my heart. I'm the one that redid it (different user name now). Soooo many hours of work just to sit there. If anyone can get me the owners info I might just buy it back for sentamental reasons.

1992 Cigarette that things BEGGIN’ to be cut into a CC with a few 350’s on it. does that nice Myco come with it for 20k? If not....... |
Ad says "dry boat". I know what they mean but 8 inches of damp leaves in the bilge doesn't exactly scream "dry boat".....
|
That is just crazy, the amount of money that had to be put into that restoration had to have been nuts, What boat got all of those parts?

does that nice Myco come with it for 20k? If not....... ______________________________________________ Here is the description from the eBay listing: 1992 42’ cigarette revolution cigarette hull Underwent full conversion from a triple boat to full stagger twins. It was rigged completely but then finishing items never done, then decided to part boat out. Rigged with extension boxes originally so holes in transom are very small. It had IMCO boxes and drives. Can easily be drilled for #6 etc. BOAT IS SET UP AS A FULL STAGGER TWIN ENGINE BOAT. Brand new fuel tanks as well Boat is Dry ! No moisture at all. No rot. Really nice paint job, shows really well. This bottom hull shares the same bottom as the APACHE 42 comanches, its a really nice hull, will make a really good project boat! BOAT IS A HULL. NO MOTORS. NO DRIVES. NO GAUGES. NO interior! I do have the bolster seats, visors etc. NO trailer. $20,000 or best offer Title in hand __________________________________________________ ____________________ Do I have the boat mixed up with another Revo? I thought this one was rigged with 6's not Imco's, like the ad says? |
I think it just needs a flat deck. I’m sure this is much harder to do than I’m imagining.
|
Wish somebody would just throw some power in it and enjoy it. Makes me sick seeing it like that.
