Top Gun Resto prices
Q: Did the silver and white redone Top Gun ever sell? Owner was on here, boat is in TX, he lives in CAL? Had white and black interior. I think 500s with bravo???
Had it listed around $95-105 I think. Also, did Fat Boy sell? That was around the same price range. Was interested to see what they sold for. Thinking about getting out... May be a for sale ad soon.... |
Im thinking the same thing, it will be hard to find a flat bottom boat that compares to yours for pricing, she's bad azz

Dave has the info on the boat he did....
|
Just for reference I put a deal together last year, super clean 99 gun with sc600's and bravos. Original upholstery but in very good shape for 90k buyer and seller both happy.
|
FatBoy is not for sale. It was bought a while ago and being converted to side by side  at Supreme Marine in Fort Lauderdale.

Wasnt FatBoy a 90mph Gun? Why the hell would someone convert a staggered setup to a side by each...
I'll answer my own question... More cockpit room..... |

I talked to Bryan w/ the silver & white TG that glassdave redid on April 2nd. He said he thought he had it sold. I never heard otherwise.

Absolute waste of money. If someone is going to dive that deep into a project they could've picked up the cheapest TG they could find and save the transom and engine rerig issues.

It's coming to great lakes Dave said, not sure which one though

I think once you get into the level you're at (and these others )for restoration just make sure it's a boat you really want and plan on keeping it. The boat I have now is the last performance boat I plan on owning. Won't sell till I'm done with performance boats for good.
|
Ive paid for mine at least 4 times over... didnt do it for value, did it for me :)

Thanks for the help in getting me those pics. Wouldn't have been possible without you. Tank here was able to reach out and get me pics of an extensive re-rig from 25 years ago. Ever find the old video?

SMH. There are a million side by side guns...and a handfull of staggared. Why take one out of a handfull to modify to be like the million others?
|
Last time I saw Fat Boy was at Lip-Ship about a week before she left for BVI Done up to the Nines, what a beast of equipment in her belly!

Sometimes we do question ourselves, or others question what we do, or why.... I agree that most of us "do it for ourselves" and it's not always about resale...write it off as expensive hobby??? That's a major undertaking to change from staggered to side by side...to each their own and try to enjoy the process (not always fun!). Without getting a calculator out, I'm easily $200k++ into mine and have owned it for 4 years now...would be lucky to get half of that out of it if I sold it....which is pretty much what I have into motors alone. Fact is, once you are out there rolling through the waves listening to that fine tuned "orchestra", could care less about the $$$.....like to think of it as "Therapy"....expensive, but worth it (like a divorce!) :bong:

I've always said that to my wife (and friends). All the money dumped into this hobby - insurance, payments, storage, fuel, repairs, etc....all your troubles melt away when you're out running hard offshore, cruising a prestine lake or anchored up at the local party spot or deserted cove with a cold one on your hand and tunes on the radio.... Ain't nothing better, and it's ALL worth it. |
