Screws for the bow rail on a top gun?

Does anyone know the size of the screws that go through the bow bar and block? Some how I lost one.

Not to sound like a smart ass but why not remove another go to local store to see if you can source it. I did that recent on engine hatch hardware. Couldn't find exact length. Ended up cutting it, dressing it, and it was perfect.

I tried and they wouldn't budge and so with our doing damage I figured someone here would know off the top of their head.

Yup you gotta call Phil, no one has screws or nuts and bolts for Cigs.
It`s like $20 a screw but since it`s a Phil screw it`s totally worth it. They make em in house on a special screw you machine.

I am sure there are Cheaper options than Phil- you can spend half a day running all over freaking town trying to find it OR make a Phone call-

Your choice - I know what I do

Pull one out, measure it, order from McMaster Carr.

Sure, you'll get qty 10 or 20 when all you need is one, but you'll probably need more in the future. Buy a tackle box with adjustable trays and throw all your extra fasteners in there. One day, you'll be happy you did. And buy good stainless grades, so you only have to do it once.

Oh yeah, and don't use a battery powered driver to put it back in, unless you feel like driving the bit through the fiberglass when it slips out of the phillips head....

F-2 Speedy 06-06-2017 08:01 AM

Don't forget the 25$ shipping....agree McMaster Car ^^^

"LIKE"

Nice. You mean he didn't completely f*ck you over and over charge you like some would have you believe and it was a pleasant experience? Wow, you'd think the guy has been in the business for like 30 years with a business model like that. Weird. ;)

Good to hear, Phil has gone above and beyond in helping me source original Cig stuff, i lost one of the vent covers that were specially made for the tigers, he helped me source it and also gave me great advise on how it should be mounted to avoid it happening on the others. he buys all the hard to source parts in quantity to have them available for when things do break. profit isnt a dirty word and its nice to have that source. its a convenience, and worth it in my opinion. before you go twisting on them trying to get them out, get some penetrating oil down in there to soak until the new ones arrive, the stainless and the aluminum dont really mesh too well.

Perfect timing on this thread. So now that I've spent some quality time with my Cig, there are a few replacement parts I need also.
A couple of hatch releases and a latch for the compartments in the cabin. Forgive me for being a bit dense here (newbie to Cigarettes), but Phil would be??? Is he LipShip Performance?
Thanks.
Steve -
p.s. Looks like I may have figured this one out. thisistank's # IS Lipship Performance. Just left a message.

yup, go to his site and click on the parts page, you will see most of the original stuff there, if its not available, he has more modern parts to fit that need.

1MOSES1 06-09-2017 07:26 AM

I've ordered thru lipship and have always had a good experience. With that said some of there prices are on the high side. I've sourced multiple items thru other vendors I.e. Hatch bolts, d moulding, etc and paid 20% of what they get for the parts. I get they need to make money and they make it easy for a one stop shop. Sometimes it's just not economical.

BDiggity 06-09-2017 07:58 AM

i have bought a bunch of crap from Phil for this money pit of a project i have going on, he has even thrown in a couple "like new parts" that he had laying around to see if they were in better condition than what i was trying to replace. Always friendly, & i dont feel like they are raping me on shipping charges like other online places. Now if i can grow the balls to order that Carlotta logo wheel.....

Yup the toolmaker that ran the screw machine died and no one knows how to make more screws. Also each screw was serialized and matched to each hole on each boat. You need the original to make a new one otherwise you're screwed.

You guys don't know the old saying? Break Out Another Hundred! If you want what Phil has, pay the man, or do the next best thing. Happy 4th kids :flag:
