2008 39 Cigarette Top Gun Redo / Upgrades

I recently sold my 2007 38 Cigarette Lip Ship Top Gun in July, and picked up a 2008 39 Cigarette Top Gun, with 274 hours, from a friend of mine. Doing lots of upgrades on the boat and motors right now. Having HRE Racing Install Whipple Stage 3 kits on the 700 SCi's, new Mercury Vessel View, new Dash panels, and sound system being installed by Nauti Concepts. Also having both drives rebuilt by Craig Colabella. Had both Herring props redone by Tim, in Ft Meyers. I will be posting before and after pics of everything we do to upgrade and make my boat better then she was when it was new. If anyone knows me, or my last several cigarette's, then you know how picky I am and this boat will be just as nice once all redone :)

Loved my last Top Gun, it was perfect except for one thing it was not fast! Here is a Speedo pic before any mods on my current 39 Top Gun :) |

The fastest I’ve been in mine is 101mph and it took awhile to get there, stock motors with nxt’s. My buddy just bought a 2011 39 with 700’s bumped up and dynoed at 845hp. GPS shows 109-110 from the previous owner. Have you drove yours yet? Such a big difference coming from a 525 38.
Yes I have run her, only had her up to 94 on GPS, had a oil alarm issue that has been taken care of, I will see what she can do in 2 weeks when I am back in FL!! totally different boat then my 38 with 525's :). I love it |

Love my 39 with the same setup. Jason is right, that thing has to have a Stage II at the very least. Mine will hit 110 and it has the stage II. I have never been that fast in it, but there is a video of Phil driving it with a previous owner showing that speed. Fastest I have been is 107, but it was still climbing when we ran out of safe lake area.
Enjoy, need to bring that thing up to the Cig run at LOTO in June. Its a must. |
mine with stock 700s and 6s runs 102 98 every day

What's approx. hp output of a;
"stage 2" Merc 700 & "Stage 3" Merc 700 ? Pretty wild, I can probably run the same mph as a stock 700 boat, it only takes me an additional 760hp! Crazy. |

Recently had both motors pulled out by HRE Racing in Ft Meyers, FL Having both totally rebuild from the bottoms up, and adding some more HP. Also getting the bilge painted and all motor and bilge parts repainted or powder coated :).
