I have installed a TS hatch from a hurricane boat on a straight bottom boat. It fit well.

Interested in hearing who has put a T/S style hatch on a straight bottom. Sounds like GlassDave has built a few but I haven't heard back from him. Would a factory T/S hatch drop right on?

oops, sorry i didnt see a PM or email. It must have slipped by me. I actually have the mold out and have two in process. All my hatches are thirty five hundred in white gel and fit very well. The factory 575 hatch from the twin step to a pre 99 does take some massaging to fit, in general they are not a direct bolt up (some do some dont, weird but i think early boats have some inconsistency's). Several years ago i had a wrecked 2003 Gun in the shop and while i had the hatch i reworked it to fit an early Gun, Fricks boat to be exact, and pulled a mold so mine is specifically fit to pre 99's.

Also, how much does it weigh?

Fricks hatch was on the heavy side, it is the only one with a liner and scoops i have done. The standard hatch comes in at about 110-120lbs.

I was thinking how much i liked the look of the finished liner underneath. Certainly adds some weight.

yeah that does look cool, your likely the only one thats ever gonna get one. It nearly doubles the cost of the hatch and takes waaayyy more effort to pull off especially with the scoops. I really do like how they came out on your boat. On a side note when you first told me you wanted a silver 90 theme i really wasn't really on board with the color, man was i wrong lol . . .

Everything worked out in the end. Amongst the liner, there are many items on this boat that will be a "one time ever". I can't share with you how much some of this sh!t costs, for instance in the pic, the custom lift attachment we machined, etc., etc. It all adds up to a pretty stupid number for a 28 year old boat. And I'm glad you went with the silver, better than my original plan of all white.
