Trying to find out if this pivot point is factory, seems like it since there are no other holes, and the boat has not been messed with, my issue is the hatch don’t open very high, but I am finding the cylinder is lower then all the others I see pics of, thinking that’s my issue, guys say it’s because no slider but either way the arm only raises so far slider or not...
tryinf tobsee what other early guns had?? Mines 1987 |

Puts too much pressure on the arm then, I drilled the hole back there to try it... stresses out the hinges , seems the cylinder needs raised more

Yeah, I gotta agree with the no slider comment.

Tim, I just found my old arm with a slider if you want it. You would need to make the channel with the slot (or I can have it cut on a tube laser). Let me know, it's sitting in my office taking up space and I'll eventually just throw it out.

Can you bring it home? I have the slide part on the spare hatch in barn...!!

Winner winner.....

I know for a fact the arm isn’t my issue but his is set up for roller, the biggest issue is my cylinder mounted lower then others... looking to raise that also
|
Is the arm (being "hard" mounted like that), limiting the range of motion of the cylinder? "binding" it???
With the roller, you have more range of motion to take advantage of the mechanical advantage with the ram/arm/whatever linkage. Is the cylinder fully extending? What does it look like tied to the stringer? Mine is stock,we could measure mine fully extended, and fully retracted. |
