Just had mine powder coated. My guy plugged the holes where the pin goes. They came out nice too. Not sure what he did to strip it, I didnt ask.
|
a fine abrasive wont hurt that aluminum, or try soda or walnut shells
|
I blasted mine with some old silica sand and had no problem. You can also soda blast them or media blast. Both will leave them smooth.

We had our swim platform blasted and coated…I was surprised how well the powder coat fills voids and smoothed imperfections. unless you have major surface irregularities you should be fine.

Thanks !!! I got them all striped and dropped off at sandblaster. There acually in really nice shape no pits but some of the silver power coat is coming off so wanted to get them redone. Been working in the bilge running all new battery cables and starting to put in the things that need to go in before the engines. So my old trimlines seem to
look ok but there originally all the fittings swivel nice but thinking mabye replace them ? There old but then there is if it isn’t broke don’t touch rule to lol |
How much to replace - if not to expensive why risk...

I was gonna sandblast and paint mine but in the end opted to just put brand new ones on. |
Tabs were in really nice shape so those are getting rebuilt. The trim lines are kinda pricey prolly close to a grand for new ones I’ll prolly end up doing them anyway. Nice to see it finally coming together!!!
