Was just looking through classifieds trying to find boats with similar power to get an idea prop selection but now I’m more confused than ever from what I see the same boats with 525 hp are running The same Props Merc 30p 4blade as I ran with old motors ran 97mph at 5700 rpm. New motors make good power up to 6000rpm
I could see 1.35 gearing producing that #

At some point the 1.5 gearing will reach its limit with a 32-34 pitch prop and on the limiter @ 6k......as mentioned.....then you need to go to a 1.35 1.36 gear to get the revs down and pick up speed.
