Ran to Ventura for lunch, out to anacapa island but it was socked in. Couple hot laps, harbor cruise. Good day. the trailer made it just fine too. Still shiny!! https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9fba25960.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e4f5b6eb7.jpeg |

I used to carry one of those cheap lawn tanks you pump up and after launching spray the trailer with salt away, water mix before I would get into boat and leave. |

Even the bunk supports?

I just pull up to the wash and have a mixer of salt away ready to go. Feed the quarters in and spray down the trailer after launching. Then when back spray whole boat and trailer down with salt away plus flush motors with it too. I’ve been using that stuff for 30 years. Big fan. It works well. |

yeah, the supports are just angled steel. No boxing anywhere.

Ocean running is great, as I live by the Jersey shore and enjoy running my 35 cig, but it comes with the knowledge of the hungry salt appetite that inevitably eats & destroys.
went through 2 sets of expensive Powerflow Plus Manifolds due to salt eating away the aluminum casting walls...at wide open running, both manifolds broke open, if I had shut it down I would,ve hydrolocked an engine or both...until I get closed cooling I run fresh water lakes.....nothing like the ocean atop 3's ...but in my opinion at a cost. Your paint scheme almost looks like mine ........'82 hull, but refit in '95 https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ec05fab81d.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1bfb40c147.jpg |
Actually, I was referring to Scotty Chatham's 38' paint scheme to mine...old and confused! Lol
