Tank,

Please don’t take this the wrong way, as it’s not meant as anything negative….

Kalifornia is such a weird place. In Ohio, and likely most other places, people who can afford toys like these live in 6000sf homes on 10 acres of land. Just a casual observation.

Carry on…. :ernaehrung004:

Thanks. Brad.

That tiny house and its proximity to the coast line probably costs triple of what your 6000 square foot home on 10 acres costs in Ohio. You don’t get out much.

SecondWind,

To the contrary. That’s precisely what I was getting at. I’m not questioning or commenting on Tank’s priorities. Hell, even our 28 footer is disproportional to the house we normally park it in front of. It’s that the costs of inelastic necessities, like real estate, are just ridonkulous in Kalifornia. I had a model boating buddy from Fremont. After making and shipping some connecting rods and pistons to him, out of morbid curiosity, I Zillowed his house. It was a tad larger than mine, and was valued at literally ten times our home’s value. It’s just nutz….

Thanks. Brad.

Make sure you talk to the Po-po so you don't get hassled or ticketed! :D

Yes you have to be loaded to live anywhere near the coast in California these days. We moved to central Illinois from Castro Valley when I was 9. Went from a 2000 square foot home to a 5000 square foot home for a third of the price. I think that contributes to having so many homeless folks around the coastline in California currently among a myriad of other reasons as well.

You can pretty much take Cali out of that and just put "coastline". Not like living by the coast here is cheap, and the house is just one MINOR cost.

that’s beach living man. Small houses generally, piled right up on top of each other. Tight roads, no parking, dealing with vacationers and tourists etc etc. but it definitely has its benefits too lol

But make no mistake. We are not rich. I’m a blue collar working class guy. But we do ok and we’ve definitely been blessed too. Have thought about cashing in and taking the money and running to build some crazy big nice house on acreage somewhere but it would be tough leaving this area permanently. We have a little bubble here. All the **** you see on the news we don’t really deal
with where we live. Crime, vagrancy, politics, etc.

the area doesn’t exactly suck, if it did, we’d be out.
