Fortunately the current administration is doing some things in our favor IRT emissions and such, recognizing all the downsides. Someone has to see the forest through the trees, pretty much literally. DEF costs, plus the plastic needed, shipping (more diesel), etc. PLUS the reduced diesel mileage. It's all crap. And I hate to say it, but big oil is fine with it too. They are fine selling gasoline trucks and diesels with poor mileage. Europe is AWESOME with their abundance of diesel automobiles. I'm not moving to Germany, but that would be a huge plus for me to consider it.

With the delete I think he said 14-16 MPG (Better Brad lol) pulling a 35 ZR DONZI on an aluminum trailer. Not the heaviest boat or trailer, it's a cheaper AL but still pretty good mileage. I was getting 9.8 with my F350 and 7.3 gas.

New diesel cars pretty much dead in Europe, too.

Direct injected gasoline engines are as efficient, are nicer to drive, and you don’t need to deal with messy diesel pumps when filling up.

I have a 2024 GMC 3500 SRW (Duramax) with about 70K miles on it. Towing to LOTO for the 4th of July from IL an emissions light came on and reduced max speed to 60MPH. After so many miles it warned me it was going to reduce my top speed to 45MPH and I need to get the emissions serviced. I stopped to fill it up with diesel and topped off the DEF tank which was about half full and the warning light shut off. On the way home we saw a pickup pulling a camper driving around 45MPH on the highway where the speed limit was 65mph. It was a busy highway with cars and trucks whizzing by this camper, dangerous to say the least. My oldest son said he must be having emission issues🤣. What are we doing??? I love the truck but the DEF system sucks. I get 8mpg pulling a 34 Powerquest.

The lift kit, tires and wheels are going to cost you a bunch on milage too. Once you hook up "The Devil", you probably should have just gotten a sport semi for just towing. I've always said for years if I was going to tow a large boat across country, to buy an older semi, cut the rear member off of it, lower it down and go with that. Their milage is not that much different than a 1 ton dragging a large load and much cheaper to buy. I had a cousin retire from trucking last year, sold his custom Pete for 40K, with a polished reefer trailer, probably had another 200,000 miles left in her before it needed an overhaul.

Compared to what used pickup trucks and cars sell for, that is a bargain. Could use the trailer when defrosting the fridge…
