My son has a cool video that is spliced together of boat angles from the helicopter and from the boat. pretty cool

It is amazing isn’t it. Seriously though 90% of the people on social media would never approach you in real life to say a good or bad comment. Which goes to show how unrealistic social media is.

cool boat and video btw.

Thanks! I gotta be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the paint before. I even mentioned as much earlier in this thread when I was searching for a #6 boat. But then I bought it sight unseen. Had Central Power & Rigging (who were responsible for the full restore) do the once over / compression test / oil analysis / etc. and had a surveyor check it out, but I never laid eyes on it before it showed up. When it did, I was blown away. My expectations were way over fulfilled. The paint on that boat is PERFECT. And shines like a new penny. And in person, on the water, it looks fantastic in my humble opinion. I think CPR and Vincent paint knocked it out of the park. I would have never chose that paint scheme but I'm very happy with it.

It does look fantastic running on the water. I didn't get the paint job at all when looking at photos of boat on trailer.

Then again, a good Gun with #6 drives is a rare gem in any case.

Aaaaaaalmost done. Full service (all fluids - oil, trans, drives) impellers, new spark plugs, all new filters and new fuel lines as the old ones were showing wear. Installed a cool onboard charger via shore power and got the LED Wip anchor light installed (aka disco show on the bow). Droppin' er in the water Thursday morning. Ready for this weekend and ready to hit the road to LOTO for the Cig Rendezvous, speaking of which, spy the Cigarette Rendezvous banner hanging on the wall my daughter bought at the PBC Cig Rendezvous a couple years back lol

it basically stays out there year round. Not doing desert storm but will be back in May for a quick trip. But yes, it’ll be out there until loto.

I’ve brought it home to so cal last two summers for a couple months but I have to store it outside and while I have a super nice full wrap cover it still gets really dirty. Drives me crazy. So, I’m just going to leave it indoors out there. If I want to run it this summer out here I’ll go grab it the weekend before. :D I’d like to just store it indoors here but they want $1500 a month for an indoor storage unit here. (Middle finger) uhhhh no. Lol

Griff 04-08-2026 12:01 AM

Tank, is this your boat before the repaint??? Found it looking at some old pics from a 2007 poker run at LOTO

I have an extra covered slip in my dock (for a boat that doesn’t exist yet), you can store it there for free, I’ll run your boat on weekends I’m there you know just to make sure it’s running well each week for whenever you come. 😂

What is a LED whip anchor light? Is that like what the Jeep folks run on their bumpers?

absolutely! Looks way nicer now I think.

it spent most of its life in LOTO. Ron built it new in 99 and it was in so cal for about 4 years. Then went to havasu to James Safa for a couple years. Then to Havasu and bounced around a few owners second to last owner was a Dr and dumped 350k into a restore / update via central power and rigging. Who I happen to be wearing today on our way out to havasu now for the poker run :D

I appreciate that!! I’d take you up on it but the pace we rented in the PBC bay has twin covered slips. 😁👍

looking forward to seeing you out there!!

Not cigarette boating but boating none the less. Impromptu jumped in the whaler this morning and headed to Anacapa island with wife and her paddle board. Insane out there. The photo of the anchor on the sea floor is 35’ deep!

huge caves that went all the way through to other side. Is like a different planet out there. Huge pod of dolphins on the way out too.

When we were out at Supercat, boat started having problems firing and then when fired, would run super rough under 1500 RPM. Over 1500, ran flawless. Also was running a bit rich at idle. So, sent it to the shop....Whelp, Carb rebuild time. :picard1: Prayers it's all done and ready to rock before we pull out headed for LOTO June 13th!!
