Finally Got a Top Gun!
 

After the fiasco of trying to buy the Top Gun from Rob Freeman (NOT OffshoreDrilling), I finally got a Top Gun. After having a couple of Sonic's, I am excited to have a Cigarette Top Gun! I have wanted one ever since I got into boating 30 years ago! Brandon Kelsey owned the boat, and was great to deal with. The boat is a 1995, with 525's and XR's. I have only had it out once, but hope to get it cleaned up and used this coming weekend.

Congrats and it sounds amazing!! Brandon is a stand up guy and very helpful after the sale, we need more like him in the offshore world! I bought my TG from him as well!! I also came from a Sonic (03 31SS 500EFI's), very cool!!

I had a 35' Sonic SS, with 500's. The cabin was great, but nothing to a Cigarette.

Congratulations! You'll love the turnkey reliability of 525's. Nothing sounds better then that engine with dry exhaust. What's next VortechSS?

Not sure just yet. I'll be watching the market for the next buy. Something with 6s. Wife wants a plane but I think I can get away with a fractional ownership and still go boating.. We'll see.


Boat ran 75 light on fuel in fresh water so I would guess a little faster in salt. Maybe even on the limiter.

I actually love them. Being used to the race boat, it doesn't bother me at all. I didn't realize how loud they were, until you get over about 4,500 RPM's.

LS Jr. has the same mills and dry pipes and when he went past us during Friday's Cig run at LOTO it completely drowned out the sound of the wet exhaust/Gibson muffler 525 EFI TG I was in. I told him on the dock at Coconuts I was now deaf in my left ear! :lolhit: Seriously I had to ask what engines were in the boat because with dry pipes those 525's sound way bigger/more HP than they are. Very bad a$$!
