Anyone know of the straight bottom with the scx4s I’m interested in how high the drives are. I’m In the process of doing scx with #6 props or scx4 with #6 props. With the scx4 I can run a 17.5 “ prop and 16.5s on the scx. My boats on a its and no notch. Just worried about having planing issues with the scx4s.

A lot of info on here about that. Even with the bottom and you will have planning issues, and would need a minimum 17.5" or 18" diameter prop.

Shoot for 1-1.5" below and still plan to use a 17.5" diameter prop. Do you have boxes? where you can adjust up and down? Can you space the SCX4 down? Then you could start at even with bottom and go down if needed and when you find what the boat likes.

im on a its and im about 4" below now with std height xrs, the bullet is 16" back from transom, you can space the scx4 down with spacers in 1/2" increments

yea 7.5" setback plus the drive puts me at 16" back from transom, id be at 2 - 2.5" deep with a scx lower, just wondering if thats still too deep with the #6 cleaver at 16.5" diameter

gets expensive chasing a few mph......Ive heard that boats have lost speed going from an XR and SC lower to the SCX, but no doubt stronger, the SCX 4 is a true surface drive

We just installed SCX's on my buddys 38TG TS. It had XR's with standard Bravo lowers(not sport masters). We used Teague blueprinted standard height SC lowers and it only seems to have lost 2mph.

ive heard the new scx lower isint as bad as the old one, im on the fence with the between the scx and scx4, power will be 1000hp so either should be ok on my old resin bucket lol
