There are some 5's and 3A's in the classifieds. I think you'd want 3A's not 3's for what it's worth. But with your set up, 5's could work with the shorter lower.

Your 3's lasted over 30 years and more than a 1000 hrs why would you want to change?

Can a stock #3 be converted to a #3a using the same #3 drive housing?.....sorry to go off coarse to the OP's inquiry!

why not go stronger if I can? Plus most of the props I end up with are 26 spline I'm not a fan of using adaptors full time

nope it's all different, you can put a prop shaft into a 3, one of the upper gears fits but that don't help much lol

You had like a 100 drives at your house, use one of those!
