I've seen it once/twice but can't even remember who owns it. Good Luck

I find it amusing how many people when trying to sell a boat show it "aired out". Is that really the message you want potential buyers to get?

Nice boat though!

285ssi 01-01-2021 05:09 AM

I spoke with the gentleman a few times the boat is in a sorry state, the cabin is wordless mold everywhere in large quantities the trapdoors of the front deck are no longer waterproof each time it rains or the snow melts everything the cabin which receives the state of the floor and the stringers worries me in the cabin, and without saying the remaining transom must be in a state to advance also like all the cigarettes of this year

Owner of the boat for 20 years that I understood he believes that his ssm3a and hubber transmissions are worth the price he asks for, he says that the drives were checked in 2014 if I'm not mistaken, good potential but release a lot of change to put it back in condition the guy says a good cleaning and 2 engine and he near I doubt his

Smoke eater 01-01-2021 07:47 AM

Well that’s a shame. Looking at the pics it looked like it was in very rough shape. But I was hoping it wasn’t that bad. Don’t want a stringer or transom replacement project.

Looks like a gem.......

Smoke eater 01-01-2021 08:19 AM

Just don’t know how you can say the interior is in exceptional condition and say it needs a cleaning when it’s clear it all needs to be redone.

speicher lane 01-01-2021 08:33 AM

That interior is a petrie dish

285ssi 01-01-2021 09:22 AM

I do not know if the stringer and transom are to be redone but to look at the state in which it was left I would tend to say yes, the gentleman sent me photos of the cabin he had tons of water and snow which we sink through the traps of the deck the carpet was soaked with the experience that I have I believe that the floor of the cabin must be in an advanced state

I would like to buy it but never at the price it wants and it does not look very negotiable

thanks for the heads up. I figured you didn’t know for sure and you were suggesting that your opinion would be replacement. I would have to think you are correct but like you said. Wouldn’t know until you had it further checked out.

Craney 01-01-2021 01:18 PM

My god why don’t people at least make an attempt to clean the mold off.

I'm sure you can find a better restoration project with less unknowns from a more reputable and reasonable seller.

This one keeps peeking my interest.

https://www.boattrader.com/boat/1994...p-gun-4845131/

I know it also needs work but seems better then that one and it’s not far from me. My biggest turn off is the #6 drives I know for some it’s a desire but me I know nothing about them and know they need constant care. Not that I’m not willing to give the care but just want to get out of my league.

that boats gonna take a BIG open check book.

F-2 Speedy 01-01-2021 04:08 PM

Id be wondering why its been laid up for 3 yrs, keeping 850 blower motors running tip top could be more of an issue than the drives,

yea from pictures it looks alright. But I know that it’s been brought up in past searches for people. My only thought with that one was go in low on the offer and hope he wants to move it.

I don’t know that boat personally but it looks very well cared for.

has the old cabin and bolsters though. Not a deal breaker for all but I personally like the newer cabin / bolsters / grab rails, etc.

yea that’s one thing that was keeping me away from it in a way. I really do like the newer style as well.

ive had the cig itch for many years and just trying to figure out if now is the time or do I wait a bit longer. Being that Lake Michigan is where I boat I’ve decided my formula 272 just isn’t cutting it anymore. I love the boat and have put a ton into it just realizing that bigger is better and trying to decide between a 382 fastech or a top gun. I’ve always loved and wanted a nice top gun just hard to make the choice because formulas have a few more probably unnecessary options.

the older cabin style is much more user friendly if you sleep in it, the 87-90 gun is layer up a tad heavier also, not a deal breaker but just a few things to think about

It’s like anything. Asking price and selling price are two different things.

Thank you tank. Just wanted to get a ball park idea on what it sold for vs asking...

1Zoom 01-02-2021 08:43 PM

Dealmaker's Cafe is for sale. Since he bought it from Seaford guy he has updated the interior and cleaned it all up. I spoke to him last week and he has it listed with a new stereo, interior, GPS, trailer etc. The boat is a 90 with blower motors and Bravos. PM him for more info.

people don’t really like talking price in public. But you start talking to people and hearing what things sell for behind the scenes can be pretty shocking from time to time.

No I totally get it. Thought about that after I posted it.

Full Force 01-03-2021 08:02 AM

I won't say price but I will say it was under the shocking category vs asking price. To me so much goes into price thoughts, most boats are over priced and nowhere near as nice as pics show or people say, most boats have power that has questionable quality build and can bomb at anytime, ssm will always pull a premium to certain buyers, personally I would not want a 35/38 cig without ssm, and 6's would depends boat not all with 6's perform right (setup)

many boats I seen survey well have rot that they seem to miss, when I look I get in anywhere I can to check especially under step in a gun to cabin 90% are wet there but people don't look.

you can find a boat that seems like a deal with nice power and ssm for let's say 60,000. Next thing you know a bad engine or a drive eats 20,000 out of your pocket, then you find rot and it goes from there, things snowball super fast.

that being said if I'm looking at a top gun in 70-90,000 range it better be real nice, have lower with history and proof of build by a good name, personally prefer ssm, you cannot give me bravos on a gun no thx.

Eddienel 01-03-2021 09:52 AM

Full Force Great information! That says a lot right there. Thanks for the information. I’ve decided to hold off purchasing anything until I can get some seat time in some different brands. Cig is on the list and I’m definitely interested in the beak boat (Sorry guys). I also need to make a list of must haves. I want to do this once with no regrets.

Full Force 01-03-2021 10:14 AM

If you like rough water and your kidneys don't buy a beak.

agreed. cigs vs. fountain build quality is night and day...fountain are faster typically. all else cig by a landslide.

no doubting they run flat and fast, that's the only advantage over Cigarette. I like my cigarette better for everything else
