See post #15. If i didn't live where I live I would have already purchased this boat. Really nice guy and has all the receipts of all the work thats been done. |
Hit up Dustin Carter at Carters Powerboats- mostly on FUkbuk now. I think he is rebuilding a bullet or cafe or maybe one of each. Top notch for sure.
|
Pretty sure Dusten has two bullets right now

who is dusten

Dustin is working on a cafe and a bullet at this time.

I really wish he would get his own webpage or some other means of documentation and advertisement other than Facebook. I don't facebook and can't stand the platform so can't really see what's what. I think, while he definitely reaches a decent audience, he's alienating a large portion of the boating community / potential customers.
|
anyone know how i can contact him dustin

Maybe someone has his number. I don't see one on his page. Probably because he doesn't want it "all over the world" |

i agree. i have texted & talked to him in person & he is a great dude. He is on Instagram too, but i have decided to stop messing with social media which i know means i miss out on those that only use that as their sales medium.
|
I have to agree with all of you about social media. A lot of people are getting tired of the double standard with it. Ive actually pretty much quit tv also and am really not missing it at all.

Yep, he's always very responsive and helpful whenever I need anything. Just think he'd be way better served with a dedicated webpage. His business is growing and it's time. ;)

1987 35’ Cafe Racer for sale
There is one for sale in upstate NY on the St Lawrence River. It is not mine and I have no affiliation to it other than it is where I go in the summer. I’ve seen the boat from a distance. I’m not sure what condition it’s in either. Just thought I’d post as an FYI. As I don’t have 10 posts it won’t let me post a URL, but if you google 1987 35’ Cafe Racer NY it will come up on boats.com

Found this browsing facebook this morning--no affiliation of any sort:

Can you link me to this. Wish he wasn't selling it so soon. Was hoping it would come back on the market about the time my kids were turning 16 - always thought it would be cool for them to learn go fasts on the boat they grew up in. Of course thats 7 or 8 years from now so I guess it could change hands again.

When I made the door catch for him he was excited about getting it done and using it. Since then he decided to build a new house and has had a change in direction. He said he would list it and see what happens. I just saw he lowered the price, so my guess is the house must be eating up funds.

Owners Club or Registry. Newbie Question
Has anyone ever put together a list of the owners or the boats for the Cafe Racers. I am a new owner and I think I read where there were only something like 200 built (don’t hold me to that number). While I realize all the downfalls to an owners list, there could be a lot of benefits too. If this exists, could someone point me to it. I think the guy restoring one hull said he thought the hull was number 69. Has anyone determined where the hull number is on a boat. I’d love to know what number hull mine is. Anyway, it could be cool to keep a list and know where they are or have a group for getting things fixed or events? Maybe that’s already been done. If so any information would be helpful. I am not trying to subvert the thread. A list could facilitate sales and purchases. Thanks

Thanks for posting the link. I saw in a previous thread where you asked the guy who bought your bought about the hull number. Did you ever hear back from him how he determined your cafe racer was hull #69? I’d like to figure out what number mine is. Thanks

If you search on here you will be able to find a thread on how to decipher the HIN. You can tell year, month, model, etc by the HIN. Here's an example: Found the HIN: CRT38151C787 CRT Cigarette Racing Team 38 Length 151 individual number C March 7 Year built 1987 87 model year |
Very cool!! Thanks
