I had to rip out the pereli from the cockpit floor of my Pantera. There was still some stuck down and dried adhesive. I had to sand through it, then resin, then paint. The seadeck went down easy then because it had something good to stick to. I wouldn’t put it over what you have now. No way for it to stick.

So no issue with adhesion with the perelli flooring then? Do you have some pics you could share? I see marine mat has a snap in version as well as a glue down, anyone have experience with that at all? Anyone know the difference between marine mat product vs sea deck?

My buddy MR. Ryan got this stuff in bulk.
I used my carpet as a template, the upholstery place finished off the edges , I bought a tool to install some snaps and off I went .
Easy to clean. nice cushion, I think the whole thing cost me $500.

Did you add that cockpit floor access hatch to your Flatdeck? I removed the tank & pump from that area in the cafe & was contemplating putting the stereo batteries there. But having concerns about heat & venting.

Good looking boat Wieland, congrats!! look forward to seeing your upgrade process. I think the easiest thing to do with the floor, is clean it up the best you can, and then do the snap in marine mat, or anything similar. (Im pretty sure you can get marine mat, seadeck, or any other make as a snap in) Just my personal opinion, I always liked the option of snap in better, as you could remove it for easier cleaning.

Also something to think about, with carpet vs. seadeck, marine mat, etc... If running boat for a while, the mat offers more cushion on your feet than carpet. I just remember running my last boat that had carpet, and running down to key west with it, i wanted to put sneakers on for comfort (but i would never do that).

I think the batteries would be cooler in there than the bilge, mine is pretty open so venting in not an issue.
