I raced the first 2 that were ever built.
They rode very well and were faster than a standard model.
We have one that we just sold, all white and ready to go, converted to a pleasure boat.

Default single step top gun

Dreamer,

Rice Hauler IV was a single step 2000 top gun.
lighter weight and about 7-8 mph faster than my previous tg with 200 less total hp. (Hawk 600's vs. Merc 500 efi's).

But one of the most significant differences that I noticed was the ride attitude. Much Much flatter than my previous nonstepped TG and stayed flatter in the rough stuff. My twin step is even better.

Also the single step was a noticibly stiffer boat. again the twin step is stiffer also. (Vacuum Bagging began with these stepped bottoms)

I had a great experience with that boat but immediately after the purchase they introduce the twin step with the remote control hatch door and sunpad and built in cooler. Just had to have it.

Also my new twin step was the first one out of the new molds. this also made a huge difference. the original single step mold was a cut and paste job i have been told. not a custom specific built mold as the new TG's come out of now.

Hope this all helps.
