I saw where it was and immediately thought…man that corner can be a b* at speed. Not sure if that had anything at all to do with it but it’s what I imagined. A rough holiday weekend…even worse. Being inexperienced I always take it slow then run hard to the bouys.

Glad the kids had life vests on. Props to captain for that.

Not sure if I will be banned from this forum for this, but there was also a deadly boating accident last weekend in Colorado. It involved a member of my daughter's Army family with the 3-61 Cavalry Squadron, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Carson, Colorado. The accident killed an Army Cavalry Sergeant and his wife and left four children without parents. I attached the gofundme link if anyone feels like helping out. This is legitimate and was covered widely in the news. Hopefully, I will still be a member of OSO after posting this but I feel this community may be the right one, especially on this thread, with stories here about others who were fortunate enough to survive! https://gofund.me/cbae0060

Not sure WTH you would think you might be banned for posting this??
Being one of the moderators that does the banning, there's not a chance of that happening for a post like this.

Thanks - I was worried about posting of the "Go Fund Me" link. I was not sure that was allowed. The rumor at Fort Carson is that the Life Insurance policy for the Sgt. might not pay due to provisions that provide if the solider was operating a motor vehicle outside the limits of the boat, motorcycle, car, etc., then the policy is void. So raising the $ for the family is critical. Thank you for the support ...!!!

Ran that corner this past Saturday. Even on a slower weekend as it was last weekend you still get the idiots that will cut that corner headed back towards Party Cove and get in the way of traffic headed back towards the Grand Glaize. I anticipate it happening and sure enough, as I was approaching a rental toon popped around the corner headed right at me.

I've always thought the owners were afraid to drop the tabs add some throttle and get the lumbering pig up on plane or their wives started screaming at them because the white poodle jumped off her lap and may go overboard. We previously had boated since the mid 80's on Lake St. Clair and it's a shallow lake that frequently has a good chop and once the fleet of Sea Rays get plowing the lake becomes a mess with cocktail cruisers pushing wakes in every direction. Now in Traverse City there are less boats and the problem exists mostly near the few marinas.

Happens every time.

I fish that point and people will rarely but occasionally drive between my boat and shore, and there isn’t room.

If that is acceptable, I will do it!! Thanks
